Function / Position Summary
To organize and maintain safe school operations through office management, communications and directed procedures.
Job Duties / Responsibilities
- Serve as secretary and provide administrative assistance to the ESY administrator.
Work collaboratively with building administrator, and ESY staff.
Communicate in a positive and effective manner with staff, administration, students, parents and/or visitors.
Oversee and be accountable for student registration and e-requisition ordering.
Answer telephone communications and record accurate messages.
Actively promote a positive school climate.
Maintain an organized and efficient office in collaboration with office staff.
Serve as bookkeeper.
Able to maintain financial documents at school and act as treasurer for the school. 10. Accurate record keeping and data collection that is completed with attention to detail. 11. Development and processing of student records.
Operate all office machines.
Maintain Workforce for staff members.
Promote strong school community relations.
Serve as staff timekeeper.
Other duties as assigned.

• Willingness to learn and become proficient in advanced applications and specialized computer programs (Mail Merge, Student Information Systems, Business Portal, etc.)
Classification C (Proficiently demonstrates all criteria listed, including classificationA+B)
• Demonstrates appropriate decision making in support of or in absence of director or supervising administrator
• Knowledge and ability to perform necessary tasks to ensure the smooth operation of the district level department/building
• Proficient in specialized computer programs and applications
• Responsible for creating and initiating written and verbal communication (community and district officials/representatives)
• Responsible for maintaining director or supervising administrator calendar/schedule (if applicable)
• Responsible for office management, environment, staff, finances (banking and financial software)
• Ultimately responsible for coordination, organization, facilitation of district level department/building

Physical Demands
- Occasionally requires physical exertion to manually move, lift, carry, pull, or push objects or materials weighing up to 30 lbs. with proper technique.
Terms of Employment
This is a temporary position. Salary and benefits as established by the Board of Education. U-46 reserves the right to terminate the position by the third day of student attendance if a minimum number of students do not register or enroll.
Summer Extended School Year (ESY) staff will support one of these locations: Streamwood High School and Liberty Elementary School.
Two days of professional development are required for summer school. Those dates are May 28 and May 29. ESY begins on June 2 and ends July 2.
ESY occurs Monday through Thursday with no school on June 19, 2025 to celebrate the Juneteenth holiday. Staff must be available on all days during the summer school sessions.
ESY staff are expected to be at school 15 minutes prior to the school day and 15 minutes after the school day concludes.
Staff hours: 7:30 am to 1:15 pm.
Student school day: 7:45 am to 1:00 pm.
ETA members will be paid the Instructional Rate
