• 80 hours of student contact (practices or contests).
• 10 contests, plus the possibility of a championship game.
Education
• Bachelor’s Degree in Education preferred
• Appropriate Professional Educators License (PEL) preferred

21.Provide for the safety of all participants and spectators at all times.
22.Coordinate, schedule, and communicate practice schedules, games, or events to allstakeholders (students, staff, administration, parents and community).

EXPERIENCE / KNOWLEDGE:
1.Previous coaching experience preferred.
2.Knowledge of volleyball rules and regulations and instructional best practices preferred.
3.CPR/AED and First Aid certification recommended.

• Deliver lesson plans as instructed by the regular classroom teacher and/or school administrators, including taking daily attendance.
• Ensure safety and wellbeing of all students within the assigned classroom and appropriately respond to all emergency situations following all necessary and reasonable safety precautions to protect students, equipment, material, and facilities.
• Maintains a professional and positive rapport with all students, staff, administration and others.
• Maintains order and discipline in the classroom conductive to effective learning.
• Clearly communicates expectations and adapts to individual learning needs, providing individual and small group instruction.
• Strive to implement assistive technology in instruction and meet individual student needs.
• Actively participate in professional development sessions.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Education
Applicants must hold at least one of the following licenses through the Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE):
• Professional Educator License (PEL)
• Substitute License (SUB)
   
Pay Rate / Benefits
• The daily rate for this position is $285.69 ($313.94 w/ TRS) effective after 15 days of continuous employment in the same assignment; retroactive to 1^st day of assignment.
• 1 sick day is accrued after working 30 consecutive days under the same assignment.
 
 
Experience / Knowledge
• Experience working with students is a plus.
• Must be detail oriented and able to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret lesson plans, technical procedures and textbooks.
• Experience with technology equipment.

• Occasionally requires physical exertion to manually move, lift carry, pull, or push heavy objects or materials (should be able to lift or move up to 10 pounds to waist high).

Function / Position Summary
Provide leadership, coordination, and support for the AVID program to raise the achievement level of participating students and to increase the students’ personal benefit from the learning experience.
 
Job Duties / Responsibilities
• Under the supervision of the classroom AVID teacher utilizes the AVID strategies while working closely with small groups of students to support academic success.
• Tutors and assist students in all subject areas based on the class and text notes they have collected in their AVID binders.
• Facilitates small collaborative learning groups.
• Evaluates student binders, including planners, and text notes.
• Work with students in any phase of the writing process, such as brainstorming, clustering, revision, and editing
• Serve as a positive role model for students who are working to improve academically and want to attend college.
• Facilitate AVID events (college visits, cultural events, opening of school activities and events, and parent nights).
• Perform other duties as assigned.
 
Education
• College degree preferred.
• Two years of tutoring experience preferred.
 
Experience / Knowledge
• Ability to work well with middle and/or high school students.
• Ability to communicate effectively.
• Must have high problem-solving ability
• Must have excellent organizational skills.
• Must have strong math and English background.
