    Job summary / application information:
    Independent School District #535 is seeking Elementary Education teachers for the 2025-2026 school year. The purpose of this job posting is to generate a pool of applicants for the upcoming K-6 teaching openings at a number of elementary schools and middle schools (Grade 6).
    This pool will not be used for art, english learner, music, or physical education positions. Watch for those separate postings in the future!

    All candidates are encouraged to provide a cover letter, a minimum of three (3) letters of recommendation, resume, references, and any additional information you feel would add to your application. New teachers graduating in the spring/summer that do not have their license yet may certainly apply and be considered. All job offers would be contingent upon receiving the proper licensure.

    Notice to internal candidates:
    If you are currently a temporary or long-term substitute teacher or other Rochester Public Schools employee, you are strongly encouraged to apply as an external candidate. This will require more information in your application. These additional questions answered in your application will be scored and used to determine whether you receive an invitation for interviews.

    QUALIFICATIONS:
    Current Minnesota teaching license with PELSB required.  
    Prior successful experience in urban, multicultural education desirable.
    Demonstrates continued professional development through course work, research, peer collaboration, and/or job-embedded staff development.
    Working knowledge of the subject matter, classroom management techniques, current researched best practices and strategies, as well as students' learning styles and needs, both academic and affective.
