Pine River-Backus Schools is seeking to hire a PreK-6 grade Elementary Principal to lead our school with vision, passion and a commitment to student success. The Pine River-Backus School, located in the heart of the lakes area, has approximately 841 K-12 grade students. Licensure as a Minnesota K-12 Principal is required.

Salary range: $110,000-$120,000
Duty Days: 215

Job Summary: Leads and manages the operation of the elementary school, grades PreK-6. Supervises all certified and non-certified staff, provides instructional and curriuculm leadership, plans and conducts communications with the school board, parents, faculty, staff and students. Develops sound operational philosophy, implements research-based educational strategies and prepares required documentation.

Major Areas of Accountability:
Students

Assists in developing methods for evaluating students' progress toward educational goals.
Maintains a system for reporting pupil progress to parents.
Maintains a student centered philosophy of education and considers welfare of the student as a paramount responsibility.
Directs elementary special education program and participates in staffings for special education students.
Directs the coordination of the Title 1 program and ADSIS.

Staff

Designs and implements a system for the observation, supervision and evaluation of school personnel.
Promotes staff morale and demonstrates a committment to professional growth including the planning of in-service and other professional growth activities for staff members.
Participates in and honors the leadership team process.
Assumes major responsibility in the recruiting, screening, hiring and assigning of professional and non-professional elementary personnel.
Oversees obtaining substitute teachers and paraprofessionals for the elementary school.

Administration

Develops student and faculty handbooks and manuals.
Works with the Director of Teaching and Learning to recommend to the Superintendent curriculum and courses of study for the elementary school.
Oversees pupil registrations, class loads and such phases of pupil accounting as are considered essential and develops and guides an acceptable program of guidance, counseling and testing.
Prepares and monitors program budgets for the allocation of the resources of the elementary school in cooperation with the Business Manager.
Approves requisitions for supplies and equipment for all elementary departments.
Makes recommendations regarding the selection of textbooks and other instructional materials.
Administers safety and security procedures for the building, equipment, grounds and transportation related to the elementary school.
Participates in the planning and supervision of fire drills, emergency preparedness program and all other school crisis and civil incidents, providing for the safety and well being of students and staff.
Plans, conducts and attends meetings with students, staff, parents, school board and community members.
Supervises the submission of federal, state and district office reports, acknowledging and adhering to statutes and school district policies.
Makes periodic reports to the Superintendent containing pertinent information relative to school activities, school progress, school discipline, personnel reports, etc.
Prepares reports and presents to the school board as requested by the Superintendent.
Implements negotiated contracts, as necessary.
Maintains professional growth through workshops, seminars, conferences and professional readings.
Serves as liaison between school, staff, students and the community interpreting school district policy and responding to written, telephone and personal requests for information from all district clients.

Experience

Administrative experience preferred but not required.
Three years of teaching experience mandatory.

Position Purpose
Under the general supervision of the School Principal, the English Instructor is assigned to teach middle and high school English classes. This position will primarily be responsible for teaching middle and high school English classes, but there may be some flexibility in the teaching assignment in future years. Middle school certification required. Coaching/advising opportunities available. Start date 8/19/2025. Application deadline is March 7th or until filled.

Qualifications

Bachelors from an accredited college or university in Communication/Language Arts
Current Minnesota teaching license or ability to obtain prior to start of school required
Successful prior teaching experience preferred

Position Summary:
Royalton Public Schools is seeking candidates to be part of a nurse substitute pool that can be called as needed for absences of our current staff. The substitute school nurse will provide health services to students, support the development of safe and healthy school environments, and manage daily health-related needs. This role requires good communication skills, the ability to interact positively with students and staff, experience dealing with children of all ability levels, and proficient clerical skills.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide first aid and emergency care to students and staff.
Administer prescribed medications to students in accordance with district policies.
Perform routine health screenings (vision, hearing, and other health assessments) as required.
Communicate effectively with parents, guardians, and school staff about student health concerns.
Maintain accurate health records for students.
Implement and monitor individualized health care plans (IHPs) for students with chronic conditions or special needs.
Participate in school-wide health and safety programs.
Promote a healthy school environment and assist with wellness initiatives.
Respond to health emergencies, including injury and illness situations.
Follow all state and district protocols related to student health and safety.
Assist student(s) in the health office
Adheres to all applicable professional safety standards and practices in the nursing field, including requirements set forth in federal and state law, and Occupational Safety and Health regulations.
Follows Blood Borne Pathogens regarding the medical or health care of employees and students.

Qualifications:

Current Red Cross or American Heart Association First Aid and CPR certification
Licensed as a Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse in accordance with the MN Board of Nursing
Must be able to lift, push or pull a minimum of 50 pounds
Must be able to interact with students while standing, sitting on chair and sitting on floor
Must be able to react quickly to students changing needs

Position Summary:
Royalton Public Schools is seeking a long term substitute School Social Worker from approximately 3/26/25-6/2/25 for Royalton Elementary School and Royalton Early Childhood Center. Our schools are a safe and welcoming place where students receive personal attention from adults who care about them. The School Social Worker will provide students, parents, administrators, and other teaching staff with individually-tailored advice and consultation to overcome personal, emotional, familial, or social issues to maximize the students' learning experience.

Key Responsibilities:

Conducts assessments, testing and diagnostic examinations of students for the purpose of identifying learning or social interaction issues, and recommending courses of action or corrective procedures to overcome issues and maximize learning.
Performs casework services with students and parents to encourage parental understanding of, and participation in, overcoming social issues to maximize the educational experience of the student.
Assists students and teaching staff in implementing students' behavior management plans.
Coordinates with outside agencies, organizations and institutions, including state and federal authorities as needed.
Coordinates with administrators and other teaching staff members to ascertain individual student's abilities and needs, including students with special needs, and to familiarize stakeholders with social work services.
Serves as ready resource to students and parents to provide counseling that will lead each student to increased personal growth, self-understanding, and behavioral management; serves as liaison between home and school.
Continues to acquire professional knowledge and learn of current developments in the educational field by attending seminars, workshops or professional meetings, or by conducting research, and by maintaining professional relationships.
Organizes and maintains a system for accurate and complete record-keeping and providing student information to prospective colleges and employers, as required by district procedures and applicable laws.
Encourages parental involvement in students' education and ensures effective communication with students and parents.
Assists in the orientation of new teachers, and provides in-service training in guidance.
Selects and requisitions appropriate books, aids and other supplies and equipment and maintains inventory records.

Qualifications:
Certification/License:

Minnesota State Educator License as a Social Worker
Motor Vehicle Operator's License or ability to provide own transportation.

Education:

Bachelors from an accredited college or university in education discipline applicable to teaching assignment.
Masters Degree in Social Work.

Experience:

Successful prior experience with elementary age students and families.
