    Salary Range:  $40,000-$82,959, depending on whether the role is part-time or full-time

    Reporting Relationship: The Career Academy Coordinator reports directly to the Building Principal

     

    East Grand Forks, MN is a city with a population of approximately 9,000 and located in the heart of the Red River Valley in Northwest Minnesota. It borders Grand Forks, ND and is very close to the University of North Dakota and Northland Community and Technical College. The district's K-12 enrollment is approximately 1950 students as well as a thriving preschool program. The district has four separate school buildings housing grades PreK-2, 3-5, 6-8 and 9-12. The district also boasts a thriving Preschool Program and lifelong learning opportunities through Community Education.

    Position Summary: The Career Academy Coordinator is a motivated and organized individual who is passionate about helping students explore their future career paths. In this role, you will play a key part in guiding students as they navigate their options after high school, providing support, resources, and connections to help them succeed. The ideal candidate may be a licensed educator, a community professional or an individual with relevant experience in both fields. The district is open to a flexible work arrangement (full-time or part-time) depending on the availability of the applicants.

     

    Essential Duties: The Career Academy Coordinator will be expected to be the leader in bridging the gap between education and industry, ensuring students gain the skills and experiences needed to be prepared for high-demand careers. This position involves strategic planning, program development, and partnership building with businesses and educational institutions to create solid career pathways. The Coordinator will guide students by focusing on hands-on learning to explore careers and gain meaningful work experiences while still in high school ensuring all students have access to opportunities that prepare them for future success.

     

    Key Responsibilities:

     
    • Grant Writing and Documentation: Grant writing, documentation for current grants related to the Wave Academy

    • Curriculum and Program Development: Curriculum and programming for CTE and Academy classes, setting up job shadows and internships for students and setting up industry speakers and industry tours for the Wave Academy

    • Marketing and Promotion: Responsible for promoting and marketing for the Wave Academy

    • Advisory and Industry Relations: Coordinating Advisory Boards for the Wave Academy, establishing industry relationships and partnerships and maintaining the current partnership with NCTC in East Grand Forks

    • Other: Other duties as assigned

     


    Qualifications:

     
    • Bachelor’s degree in Education, Career and Technical Education, or a related field (Master’s preferred).

    • Valid Minnesota teaching or administrative license.

    • Minimum of 5 years of experience in education, with a focus on career and technical education or related areas.

    • Strong project management skills and the ability to lead initiatives from conception to completion.

    • Exdellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with diverse stakeholders.

    • Proficiency in data analysis and familiarity with grant writing and management.
