Salary Range: $90,000-$110,000

Reporting Relationship: The Elementary Principal reports directly to the Superintendent.
East Grand Forks, MN is a city with a population of approximately 9,000 and located in the heart of the Red River Valley in Northwest Minnesota. It borders Grand Forks, ND and is very close to the University of North Dakota and Northland Community and Technical College. The district's K-12 enrollment is approximately 1950 students as well as a thriving preschool program. The district has four separate school buildings housing grades PreK-2, 3-5, 6-8 and 9-12. The district also boasts a thriving Preschool Program and lifelong learning opportunities through Community Education.

Position Summary: The Elementary Principal serves as the instructional and administrative leader of the school, ensuring a positive and effective learning environment for all students. This role is responsible for overseeing daily operations, implementing educational programs, and fostering a culture of academic excellence and inclusivity. The principal provides leadership in curriculum development, staff supervision, and student support services while ensuring compliance with state and federal education policies.
Essential Duties: The Elementary Principal is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of New Heights Elementary School. The Principal is responsible for providing leadership, direction, and oversight for all aspects of school operations to ensure a safe and supportive learning environment. This includes supervising staff, implementing curriculum and instructional strategies, managing student support services, and fostering strong relationships with families and the community.
Key Responsibilities: The principal plays a vital role in fostering a positive learning environment while maintaining strong collaboration with staff, families and the school community.
Instructional Leadership: Oversee PreK-2 curriculum to enhance student achievement.
Staff Supervision & Development: Hire, evaluate, and support teachers and staff.
School Culture & Climate: Promote a positive, inclusive, and safe learning environment.
Student Support: Oversee student support services.
Family & Community Engagement: Build strong relationships with parents, guardians, and community partners.
Operational & Budget Management: Oversee school operations, including budgeting, scheduling, and resource allocation.
Data-Driven Decision Making: Analyze student performance data to guide instructional improvements and school-wide initiatives.
Policy & Compliance: Ensure adherence to district policies, state and federal education laws, and safety procedures.
Other: Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications: The ideal candidate builds strong relationships with students, parents, staff, and the community. They will work with staff to enhance academics and school culture to provide the best possible overall school experience. The district seeks a collaborative leader with experience in education leadership, communicates effectively and is visible and approachable.
Current Minnesota K-12 Principal License
Experience in leadership roles
Background in school administration, management, or curriculum development
