The School District of the City of York Bearcat Opportunity Program (herein “BOP”) Site Coordinator for grades 1-8 provides instruction for the after school program. A BOP After School Site Coordinator must demonstrate the vision and passion necessary to lead an innovative program dedicated to educational enrichment and academic excellence.  The Coordinator shall report to the BOP Program Director and will be required to work collaboratively and effectively with the BOP After School Program Director, as well as with all BOP staff.

The BOP After School Program Site Coordinator must be present each day, demonstrate appropriate professional decorum, promote an atmosphere conducive to learning, exhibit a customer service mindset, manage deadlines and maintain discipline with energy, integrity, creativity and drive.
 
Experience and Qualifications
 
1.         Bachelor’s Degree in Education preferred
2.         Working knowledge of word-processing, spreadsheet, database and other computerized
            office programs including, but not limited to Google Suite and Microsoft Suite.
3.         Experience with program coordination, implementation and supervision.
4.         Experience developing and implementing a budget
5.         Basic knowledge of publication layout and design preferred.

The  BOP After School Program Site Coordinator is responsible for the planning, coordination, and implementation of student lessons in reading/writing, mathematics, and character education in accordance with the School District of the City of York’s policies and the BOP After School Program goals. Classroom duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Responsible for the day-to-day coordination of all programming at their assigned school.
2. Work directly with building Administrators to ensure effective communication and collaboration is taking place.
3. Oversee and monitor student attendance and discipline during program hours.
4. Lead After-School Program Teachers
5. Responsible for employee scheduling and absence management, communication with building Administrators and other administrative tasks necessary to successfully drive the program.
6. Work with building Administrators and staff to recruit students.
7. Help deliver targeted and intensive reading/writing and mathematics instruction with a structured, regular routine.
8. Maintain regular communication with all parents regarding student attendance, student progress and student disciplinary matters.
9. Other duties as assigned by the After School Program Director.
 
• Hours:  3:15pm - 5:15pm
• All school year, 3 days per week.  Typically Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays.  Some weeks will vary depending on the Early Dismissal Schedule

Assists with school administrators, school physicians and dentists in planning and organizing the school health program.  Consults with school administrators to establish, review and revise policy and procedures for a comprehensive school health program.  Schedules dental and physical exams. (23.71) b. Provides up-to-date information for use of school personnel on such subjects as the growth and development pattern of children, first aid practice, accident prevention, communicable disease regulations and assists in evaluating the content material used for health teaching, and offer assistance in providing sources of information. (23.75) c. Uses data collected to help plan and evaluate the school health program. (Regs. 23.75)  d. May serve on district advisory health councils. (14-1422 Code) e. Ensures that reports required by the school district; PA Dept. of Health, Div. Of School Health; and PA Dept. of Education are properly prepared and forwarded.

Reviews and monitors student immunization status.  Makes appropriate referrals to up-date immunizations when indicated. f. Provides health teaching and counseling. g. Maintains comprehensive health records on each child and records of school nursing services (23.72). h. Assists in interpreting the health needs of individual children to parents and teachers and assists families in utilizing community resources for improving the health of their children (23.74).
3. Administers medications and performs procedures according to physician orders and school district policies and procedures.  Ensures physician orders for individual student medications and/or treatments comply with requirements for administration.   Informs teachers of health conditions of pupils which may affect behavior, appearance or scholastic performance (14-1406 Code).  
4. Facilitates an organized system of coordinated care for students. a. Collaborates with agencies within and outside of the school community to insure continuity of service and care of students, including working with private physicians and dentists to coordinate private medical and dental examinations with the school program (23.78). b. Identifies high risk children to needed services, including students presenting with signs of child abuse c. May actively participate as a member of Suicide Prevention, Drug and Alcohol Abuse Prevention and Smoking Cessation programs or activities.  d. May actively participate in the Student Assistance Program; Child Study Team; individual education program meetings for exceptional students with medical or developmental problems; Chapter 14 and 15 review and evaluation teams; and/or provide information to these teams as required.
5. Promotes a safe and healthy school environment. a. Plans with school administrative, maintenance and sanitation personnel for the environmental needs of the school group, and advises school officials of environmental adjustment necessary to meet the needs of physically challenged individuals. The YCSD Summer School programs at Davis K-8, Ferguson K-8, McKinley K-8, and Goode K-8, and William Penn Senior High School are seeking nurses to provide health coverage for all Summer School programming.   S/he shall report to the YCSD Summer School Program Supervisor, and will be expected to work collaboratively and effectively with the YCSD School Summer School Supervisor as well as with all YCSD School Summer School staff.

The YCSD Summer School programs at various K-8 schools and William Penn Senior High School are currently in search of qualified nurses to provide essential health coverage throughout the Summer School sessions. Responsibilities include:

- Reporting directly to the YCSD Summer School Program Supervisor.
- Collaborating with the YCSD Summer School Supervisor and all summer school staff to ensure a safe and healthy environment for students.
- Administering first aid and medication as needed.
- Monitoring and managing any health-related incidents or emergencies that may arise during the summer programs.
- Providing health education and resources to both staff and students.

16. High School Graduate
 
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
 
• Assist the student with a variety of tasks that would facilitate full access to educational programs
• Provide clerical assistance for the teacher
• Assist in monitoring of lavatories, lunchroom, transitioning in hallways/classroom and playground
• Inventory, distribute and collect educational materials as requested
• Assist with one-to-one and small group instruction of students as assigned and directed
• Supervise students who require transportation
• Following and assisting in implementing behavior plans
• Complete daily logs pertaining to support provided to the student  (IEP Aide)
• Attend to all personal care needs of assigned student or students, which may include toileting, feeding, and changing.
• Collect data on student progress assigned by teacher
• Assist students in general education classes, if appropriate
• Provide substitute support when student absences impacts current assignment
• Perform other related duties as assigned by a supervisor.
