The responsibilities of the certified teacher shall be:
1. To work with the team leaders and other program staff to enhance the effectivness of the activities and programs.
2. To work with groups of student in collaboration with Program Staff to enhance the effectiveness of the activities and programs.
3. To support the delivery of the STEAM curriculm to groups of students.
4. To deliver instruction to groups of students or to tutor groups of students
The certified teacher shall be paid at the Homebound rate of $35.45 per hour, less standard deductions and withholdings.  The source of payment shall be from the grant funds of the 21st Century Community Learning Center Grand and manner of payment shall be in accordance to the grant requirements including, but not limited to completion and submission of time cards or time records.  The certified teacher shall not be eligible for payment during periods, if any, when the Program is or has been suspended and the teacher is not performing or has not performed his/her responsibilities due to the suspension of the Program.

Goals:
• To develop in each pupil an appreciation of the art of music as part of general culture; to teach techniques of vocal or instrumental music expression; to discover and develop talents of pupils in the field of music; to develop knowledge and skills in listening to and reading music.
 Primary Duties and Responsibilities:                       
• Teach small group band and string lessons at assigned school(s)
• Run sectionals for chorus
• Teach skills in music appreciation, harmony and explorations in music, and in instrumental music (band, orchestra, instrumental ensemble) and choral music (chorus, choir, choral ensemble) to elementary and secondary pupils.  Utilize curriculum adopted by the Board of Education and other appropriate learning activities.
• Instruct pupils in citizenship and basic subject matter specified in state law and administrative regulations and procedures of the school district.
• Plan a balanced music program and organize daily class time so that preparation, rehearsal and instruction can be accomplished within the allotted time.
• Utilize repertoire of all types of music, literature, including traditional and contemporary, that are appropriate for the ages of skill levels of pupils.
• Control the storage and use of school-owned property; make minor adjustments and request repairs to instruments as required.
• Establish and maintain standards of pupil behavior to provide an orderly, productive environment during practice, group rehearsals and musical performances.
• Evaluate each pupil’s musical growth and performance, assessing each individual’s contribution to the performance of the group.
• Select and requisition books, musical instruments and instructional aids; maintain required inventory records.
• Communicate with parents and school deans and administrators on pupil progress.
• Identify pupil needs and cooperate with other professional staff members in assessing and helping pupils solve health, attitude and learning problems.
• Cooperate with the school administration in providing musical programs for school productions, graduation ceremonies and community functions.
• Supervise pupils in out-of-classroom activities as assigned.
• Participate in curriculum and other development programs.
• Participate in faculty committees and sponsorship of pupil activities.
• Maintain professional competence through in-service education provided by the district, and in self-selected professional growth activities related to music.

• Provide basic first aid in accordance with the district's first aid procedure. Notifies the Coordinator of Nurses of any injury requiring medical or dental intervention or immediate absence from school.

• Facilitates self-medication as set forth in district guidelines.
