Qualifications: Holds a minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution of higher learning. Holds a valid Georgia Teaching Certificate Meets all certification requirements including teaching area endorsements in the State of Georgia |
Performance Duties & Responsibilities: Instructs all students and ensures each student's progress with as much individualization as possible. Directs and instructs elementary arts program. Presents programs as dictated by the instructional needs of the students and the valid expectations of the local school. Establishes a positive classroom climate and effectively manages art instruction within that environment. Plans effectively for instruction, using knowledge of subject matter as well as knowledge of the physical, emotional, and intellectual growth process of students. Select art materials which are appropriate for teaching and performance, and which will contribute to the development of the students' understanding and appreciation of art. Evaluates student progress in terms of the objectives of the course and grade taught. Maintains positive and supportive communication with other art teachers within the local school cluster as well as other art teachers within the district Seeks to improve through professional development and evaluation activities Perform other duties as assigned by Principal or Supervisor. Other Functions: Daily attendance and punctuality are required to ensure the goals of the work unit are met. |
Working Environment: The usual and customary methods of performing the job's functions require the following physical demands: Lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling; frequent stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling. Generally, the job requires 65% walking/standing, 25% sitting and 10% lifting/carrying. |
