Primary Function:                This position is an integral pillar of the elementary school community. This position supports the school Principal and assists with all aspects of leading and operating an elementary school.

1. Works under the Principal to administer and supervise the school in accordance with the policies and regulations established by the Board of Education.
2. Works with the school administration and district staff to administer and direct the Magnet School Operations plan, if applicable. 
3. Assists the Principal with improving the school’s total educational program in accordance with student needs and within the framework of established policies for the school district.
4. Promotes a school environment that is safe and conducive to personalized instruction, cooperative curriculum development, and student learning.
5. Conducts ongoing assessment of student learning and works with teaching staff to modify instructional methods to fit students' needs, including students with special needs.
6. Applies in-depth knowledge of SRBI to ensure appropriate interventions within curricula.
7. Assists in the development and establishing of the school goals and objectives and the planning of the school’s instructional and magnet programs.
8. Supports the creative programming, development, and marketing of the district’s multi-themed Magnet Pathways.
9. Assists in coordinating the work of school staff to develop and implement instructional programs and teaching practices.
10. Assists with the preparation of class schedules, master schedules, and extracurricular activities.
11. Responsible for upholding the student code of conduct by managing student discipline.
12. Ensures all disciplinary records are maintained and logged regularly.
13. Assists to define and disseminate information about school disciplinary policies and procedures to parents, students, staff and community.
14. Ensures that student conduct and attendance conform with the school's standards and school district policies. Assists with the development and daily implementation of the school’s School Improvement Plan and any other school-based plans.
15. Supervises activities of the school’s certified and non-certified staff members in the performance of their duties and in the improvement of their performance.
16. Evaluates certified and non-certified staff under the direction of the Principal.
17. Supervises and evaluates teaching staff and other building employees in accordance with the school district's evaluation plan, and makes recommendations regarding goals, areas needing improvement and continued employment.
18. Provides leadership and direction to staff about the ongoing evaluation and improvement of educational programs, including curricular and extracurricular activities.
19. Participates in the recruitment, selection, and recommendation of the school’s certified and non-certified staff and in the advancement, transfer, demotion, or severance of these personnel.
20. Assists in the recruitment and selection of employees, the proper maintenance of employee information, the administration of collective bargaining agreements, corrective action, and other human resource issues.
21. Aids in the supervision of support services at the individual school level, such as facility maintenance; security; food services; transportation; extracurricular activities; student, staff, and inventory accounting; library activities; and technology and equipment.
22. Contributes to the development of district-wide policies.
23. Works under the Principal to prepare the school’s budgetary requests and administers the allocations.
24. Assists in the budgetary and financial affairs of the school consistent with school district policies.
25. Develops a program of public relations that furthers the community’s understanding and support of the total school educational program.
26. Consults and works with appropriate central office administrators and staff with respect to the school’s personnel; curriculum, instruction, and assessment; student support services; supplies; equipment; magnet programming; and the school facility.
27. Inspires and empowers teachers, students, parents, and communities. 
28. Holds a strong commitment to team collaboration through Professional Learning Communities.
29. Continues to acquire professional knowledge by attending seminars, workshops, or professional meetings, or by conducting action-based research.
30. Encourages staff to continue to grow professionally and to experiment with new approaches or strategies to teaching.
31. Encourages parental involvement in students' education and ensures effective communication with students and parents.
32. Title IX leadership in collaboration with the Principal.
33. Adheres to the Connecticut School Leadership Standards.

Required Qualifications;
• Connecticut Intermediate Administration/Supervision Certification (092)
• Possess a valid Teaching Certificate, preferably in the arts
• At least 5 years of successful experience as a classroom teacher

Preferred Qualifications:
• Bilingual (English & Spanish)
• Sixth year, doctorate, or another planned program in educational leadership, ELL, or special education
• Knowledge of magnet school program development and implementation
• Knowledge of inquiry-based teaching and learning
• Knowledge of Arts themes and educational programming
• Demonstrated leadership abilities in an ethnically diverse community 
• Experience in supervising building-level Special Education and English Learners programs and services

PRIMARY FUNCTION: The HVAC Technician will perform skilled mechanical maintenance duties in the inspection, repair, installation and alteration of District heating, ventilation, air conditioning (HVAC) and refrigeration systems and related equipment and facilities; perform preventive maintenance and routine servicing of equipment.  This work will be performed under the direction and supervision of a licensed journeyman. 
 
TYPICAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 
 
This description of the position is for identification and administrative purposes only. It is not intended to be a complete statement of all duties, which may be assigned or adjusted by the supervisor according to varying needs. 
 
1. Inspect, repair, modify and install HVAC equipment including refrigeration and air conditioning compressors, receivers, condensers, chillers, water cooling towers, forced air converter units, pumps, automatic and hand valves, expansion valves and capillary tubes. 
2. Conduct regular preventive maintenance inspections of refrigeration units, isolated heating and ventilating units, including boilers, gas and electrically operated air conditioning equipment, and make necessary adjustments or repairs, service and repair evaporative coolers.  
3. Repair or replace defective parts in units and equipment and their controls, including thermostats, automatic switches, fan controls, log switches, damper motors, louvers, relays, filters, controls, belts, compressors, heat exchangers, high limit controls, pressure controls, safety valves, and automatic gas valves.  
4. Operate a variety of hand and power tools, welder torch, vacuum pump, test equipment utilized in the trade and a motor vehicle; maintain equipment in effective and safe working condition; maintain parts and tool inventory.  
5. Repair and rebuild semi-hermetic reciprocating compressors and compressors for centrifugal refrigeration machines.  
6. Perform skilled electrical maintenance work in the repair, installation and alteration of HVAC equipment, components, timers, motors and wiring systems as needed; connect motors to control panels. 
7. Test and examine boiler operations, observing meter and pressure gauges; conduct boiler water quality test and treatment; adjust boiler burner combustion.  
8. Lubricate and pack heating, ventilation, refrigeration, and air-conditioning motors, pumps, fans, and other equipment.  
9. Install and calibrate systems; install copper tubing and repair pipes and tubing as necessary; test joints and insulate pipes of refrigeration and air conditioning systems; flush boilers, descale tubing; rebuild pressure and temperature safety valves and water pumps.  
10. Install, rebuild, replace, or repair fans, motors, thermostats, fuses, filters, bearings, valves, controls, gaskets and other equipment as necessary.  
11. Maintain related records concerning time, labor and materials; maintain log of tasks performed and write reports as required.  
12. Maintain and repair water fountains.
13. Repair and replace plumbing valves, faucets.  
14. Perform other duties as assigned.  
 
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: 
• Must have prior experience and possess an HVAC license D-2 or greater.

5. Conduct functional behavior assessments and functional analyses to inform development of individualized behavior intervention plans.

Required Qualifications:

Primary Function:  Physical Therapist provides specially designed instruction and related services. The physical therapist collaborates with families and education team members to develop appropriate educational programs.  Physical Therapist advises on health-related concerns as they impact education for students with special needs to ensure that students function as independently as possible within the least restive environment.

1. Evaluate students using appropriate tests, skilled professional observation and supplementary information from other agencies and records. Perform initial and ongoing physical therapy evaluations according to APTA standards of practice as well as state standards. 
2. Participate in IEP/504 process, including collaboratively determining the need for physical therapy as a related service under IDEA or as a reasonable accommodation under section 504 of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). 
3. Select, administer, and interpret a variety of screening instruments and standardized measurement tools. 
4. Design and implement physical therapy intervention that allow students to benefit from their education program and access their educational environment safely. 
5. Measure and document student progress resulting from the designed physical therapy interventions.
6. Teach and train educational personnel to help student achieve his or her IEP goals. 
7. Work with team members to adapt environments to facilitate student access and participation in the general education curriculum. 
8. Support and make recommendations for the safe transport of students. 
9. Serve as a liaison among school, medical personnel and medical equipment vendors. 
10. Collaborate with team members to plan for transition from school to community, preparing student to function independent from therapy services when targeted outcomes are achieved.
Required Qualifications:
• Connecticut Certified Physical Therapist and the National Board for Certified Physical   
 
Preferred Qualifications:
• Such other qualifications as the Board of Education may require
