REPORTS TO:           Director of New London Adult & Continuing Education
SUPERVISES:           N/A
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:          10-months (September -June), Part-time, 4 hours per day, approximately 7:30-9:30 am and 11:30 am – 1:30 pm, .57 FTE  
PRIMARY FUNCTION:                   Provide transportation to Even Start program participants.
TYPICAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
This description of the position is for identification and administrative purposes only. It is not intended to be a complete statement of all duties, which may be assigned or adjusted by the Superintendent of Schools according to varying needs.
1. Transport parents and children enrolled in the Even Start program to and from New London Adult Education.
2. Transport children to NAEYAC accredited childcare center as needed.
3. Ensure all required van documentation is up to date, i.e., registration, insurance, etc.
4. Report any vehicle malfunctions or maintenance needs to the City of New London Mechanical Maintenance.
5. Fuel the van when needed at the City of New London fueling station.
6. Receive updates and additions from the Even Start Education Service Associate.
7. Perform any additional driving needs that may arise during the school year. 
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
• Clean driving record
• Valid Connecticut Driver’s License with V Endorsement
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
• Bilingual (English and Spanish)
PERFORMANCE EVALUATION: Annually by Director of New London Adult & Continuing Education
SALARY:      minimum wage
