Primary Function: Help maintain the physical school properties, in order to provide a safe and clean environment for students, staff, and the community.

Typical Duties & Responsibilities:
1. Cleans and monitors designated spaces and equipment in the building, including sweeping, dusting, moping, vacuuming, and waxing and rubbish removal.
2. Assists in the upkeep of seasonal grounds work, such as snow and ice removal, leaves and other debris.
3. Unlocks and locks premises, secures windows and activates and deactivates the alarm systems.
4. Cleans and maintains custodial equipment daily after each use.
5. Takes monthly fuel readings and forwards results to the Business Office when applicable.
6. Restocks consumable items and provides an inventory of supplies to the lead custodian at the high school, middle school and the principals of the elementary schools.
7. Helps in unloading of freight, checks and distributes freight to respective areas.
8. Works as a team with all custodians in thoroughly cleaning and maintaining buildings during school breaks and in the summer.
9. Collects Material Safety Data Sheets for all cleaning products and submits them to the Chief of Operations.
10. Assists visiting public utilizing the facilities with directions within the building and in obtaining and setting up needed equipment.
11. Performs such other related duties as may be assigned.
