SUMMARY DESCRIPTION OF CLASSIFICATION:    Under the direction of the Building Principal, the School Nurse will provide direct support to students to sustain, improve or adapt to their specific health needs. In doing so, the School Nurse shall contribute to the Milford School District’s goal of robust student achievement, while balancing the immediate well-being needs of the school population.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATION STANDARDS
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:   Strong collaborative, teaching, coaching and leadership skills to support student programming and work in a school setting Thorough organizational skills to balance the ever-evolving demands of the student population Serve as a liaison between the school, the family and the community healthcare providers Exemplary problem-solving skills to support student success Knowledge of fundamental pediatric nursing principles Knowledge of New Hampshire Board of Nursing Rules (NH BON) Nur 404.01 and New Hampshire Department of Education Ed 311 Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills
EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND EXPERIENCE:   Completed a Board of Nursing approved registered nursing program at the associate degree level or higher under RSA 326-B  and Have 3 years of current experience in pediatric nursing or other related nursing areas. All school nurses hired after August 25, 2019 holding an associate’s degree in nursing shall be enrolled in a registered nurse to bachelor of science in nursing program, and shall complete such program within 6 years of the date of hire.

Plesae note that this is a 1:1 assignment with one student for the 2024-2025 school year.

SUMMARY DESCRIPTION
Under the supervision of the Title I Coordinator or Principal, the School Nurse serves as a team member with support personnel to provide an educational program which promotes the physical, emotional and mental health of students served by the Milford School District.

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS and REQUIREMENTS

7. Knowledge of and ability to assist students, families and groups to achieve optimal levels of wellness through health education; scientific knowledge and technical competence in providing direct and indirect services to students to ensure their safety, comfort, personal hygiene and protection.
8. Knowledge of disease prevention and restorative measures.
9. Ability to work and communicate effectively with community resources, parents, and staff.
EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND EXPERIENCE
1. Bachelors degree or its equivalent from an accredited institution.
2. Experience as a School Nurse preferred but not required.
CERTIFICATE AND LICENSE REQUIREMENTS
Registered Nurse with the State of New Hampshire.

SUMMARY DESCRIPTION:  Title 1/ESY Summer Social Worker
Under the direction of the school Title 1 coordinators and ESY coordinator, the Social Worker assists children in resolving developmental, educational, psycho-social and mental health problems through diagnosis, counseling, and consultation. To provide referrals to appropriate outside agencies and/or in-district services. To work closely with students, parents, teachers, the child study team, other necessary staff members and community agencies to facilitate the student’s maximum functioning in the educational process.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Working knowledge of the Federal Standards, Milford School District programs, low-income and diverse populations.
Knowledge of the principles and methods of social work and their application in providing preventive and rehabilitative services.
Ability to carry out the goals and objectives of the program.
Ability to work collaboratively and effectively with administration, community agencies, staff and parents.
Effective supervisory and team leadership skills.
Excellent written and oral communication and computer skills, good human relations skills.

EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND EXPERIENCE:
Master’s Degree with a major in Social Work and/or School (Guidance) Counseling.
Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the School Board may find appropriate and acceptable.

CERTIFICATE AND LICENSE REQUIREMENTS:
Certified by the NH State Department of Education as School Social Worker (0049)

This position is a part-time hourly position with flexible hours under a United Way Grant between the calendar days of July 8, 2025 - August 7, 2025.

SALARY:
