  •   PRIMARY FUNCTION:  To assist the Operations Foreman in maintaining all food service equipment for Douglas County Schools.

    PAY GRADE: Classified Salary Schedule - 246 Day Maintenance B08 Salary Range - $37,380.00 - $60,474.00. Salary placement will be based on Douglas County Board of Education approved salary schedules and years of verified experience.

    FLSA STATUS:  Non-Exempt

    TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:  246 Days (12 Months)

    REPORTS TO:  Executive Director of School Nutrition & Maintenance Operations Foreman

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    1)  Minimum high school diploma with formal education or supervised on-the-job training in the areas of:   
                         (a) gas and electric heating units
                         (b) refrigeration
    2) Minimum of three years experience in repair and maintenance of refrigeration systems, boiler and boiler-less steam equipment, gas and electric appliances, and/or food processing equipment.
    3)  Preference will be given to individuals:Certification/License Required:  Certified LEVEL I AND LEVEL II refrigerant technician in accordance with E.P.A. Section 608.

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:  Exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.  Ability to climb ladders.

    PROFICIENT SKILLS:  
    Ability to troubleshoot and repair all types of equipment used in school nutrition programs.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES:             
    Repair food service equipment for Douglas County schools
     
    Assist in maintaining a preventive maintenance program for all food service equipment in
    accordance with manufacturer’s recommendations
     
    Perform programmed major repairs or overhauls, as well as comprehensive preventive maintenance on equipment as directed by the Operations Foreman.
     
    Exercise proper use and care of tools and equipment.
     
    Assist with warehouse food deliveries as needed.
     
    Implement and practice established safety standards
     
    Keep Operations Foreman informed of potential major breakdowns and general condition of equipment.
     
    Maintain a daily log of maintenance activities including parts used.
     
    Perform any other reasonable duties requested by the Food Service Director and Operations Foreman.
