Job Summary:
The social worker identifies and assists students and families in overcoming barriers that interfere with learning, using assessment, counseling, consultation, coordination of school and community resources, and program development. The social worker utilizes knowledge of human behavior, social, cultural and community influences to help create a positive learning climate. The social worker collaborates with classroom teachers, parents, and the administration to develop and implement targeted goals and interventions, with a focus on ensuring that students are successful and their educational needs are met in all school settings. The social worker serves as a member of the multi-disciplinary team and provides case management services. This position is available for the 2025-2026 school year.
Qualifications:
- Current and valid state of Illinois Professional Educator License with an endorsement in school social work;
- Candidate must have a Masters of Social Work from an accredited educational institution;
- Knowledge of current federal and state laws, rules, and regulations;
- An outstanding knowledge of child and adolescent development, social and environmental conditioning, cultural diversity, and family systems;
- Ability to develop IEP goals for students and to provide social emotional support through services and interventions that are aligned with ISBE's Social Emotional Learning (SEL) standards;
- Ability to conduct assessments for the purposes of determining the social, emotional, and behavior needs of students;
- Experience conducting social development studies, functional behavior assessments, and developing behavior intervention plans;
- Bilingual (Spanish) preferred.
Salary and Benefits:

- Salary is commensurate with education and experience;
- Qualified candidates may be granted up to twenty years of verified full-time experience for credit on the salary schedule;

Working Conditions:
- 180 days per year - August through May/June
- K-5 Work Hours: 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
- Middle School Work Hours: 7:45 a.m. to 2:45 p.m.
