Chappaqua CSD is looking for a child-centered, thoughtful & knowledgeable educator to serve in the probationary position of School Psychologist assigned to the role of district-wide CSE/504 Chairperson beginning 8/28/2025.

Position Purpose
Under the general supervision of the Assistant Superintendent of Pupil Personnel Services, to partner with students, families and staff to oversee and facilitate the district-wide CSE/504 processes from secondary students through Age 21, and including out of district placements and parentally placed students.
Essential Performance Responsibilities
Conducts psychological assessments, testing and diagnostic examinations of students for the purpose of recommending courses of action or corrective procedures to maximize learning and overcoming psychological issues.
Assists with the identification and placement of all types of exceptional students.
Current knowledge of best practices in educating students with disabilities in inclusive school environments.
Ability to effectively facilitate group decision making processes.
Thorough knowledge of current federal and state regulations governing CSE and Section 504.
Highly effective written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work effectively and collaboratively with parents, teachers, students and other district leaders.
Coordinates with administrators and other teaching staff members to ascertain individual student's abilities and needs, including students with special needs, and to familiarize stakeholders with psychological services.
Serves as a resource and consultant on mental health and child psychology, conducts in-service programs as requested.
Continues to acquire professional knowledge and learn of current developments in the educational field by attending seminars, workshops or professional meetings, or by conducting research, and by maintaining professional relationships.
Organizes and maintains a system for accurate and complete record-keeping.
Encourages parental involvement in students' education and ensures effective communication with students and parents.
Certification & Education
NYS School Psychologist Certification required.
Previous experience as a School Psychologist and/or CSE Chairperson required
Ph.D. in Psychology preferred.
