The Chappaqua Central School District is a community of six schools serving approximately 3500 students in Westchester County. Chappaqua CSD is looking for a thoughtful and knowledgeable educator to serve in the anticipated probationary position of Social Studies Teacher at Horace Greeley High School beginning 8/28/2025.

Knowledge of NYS Social Studies Learning Standards and uses them for unit and lesson plan development.
Promotes a classroom environment that is safe and conducive to individualized and small group instruction, and student learning.
Thoughtfully centers equity in the daily learning experiences to support the students' awareness of identity and inclusivity.
Develops clear, engaging, and relevant lesson plans that appropriately challenge students and demonstrate current educational pedagogy.
Ability to engage in self-evaluation with regard to performance and professional growth; actively seeks professional learning opportunities.
Demonstrates an understanding of how to implement project-based learning, teach to various learning styles, differentiate instruction, and collaborate with department members.
Exhibits an inclusive philosophy where all students are capable of succeeding regardless of differences and challenges.
Exudes a joy of learning and an ability to work with students of all skill and ability levels.
Experience with social and emotional learning and building a positive classroom culture that focuses on the development of the whole child (knowledge of RULER is a plus).
Conducts ongoing assessment of student learning and progress, and modifies instructional methods to fit individual student's needs.
Encourages parental involvement in students education and ensures effective communication with students and parents.
Promotes a classroom environment that is safe and conducive to individualized and small group instruction, and inquiry based learning experiences.
