POSITION: High School Principal
START DATE: July 1, 2025
SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Principal of Omni High School, an alternative program within Carrollton Public Schools, will supervise and manage daily operations. Responsibilities include overseeing instructional programs, budget management, lease negotiations, marketing, staffing, program evaluation, and compliance with local, state, and federal reporting. Additionally, the Principal will collaborate with community agencies to advance the program’s mission.
REPORTS TO: Tiffany L. Peterson, Ed.S; Superintendent
COMPENSATION:
A competitive compensation package will be offered, commensurate with the candidate’s experience and credentials.
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND CREDENTIALS:
Master’s degree in Administration, Educational Leadership, or a related field.
Compliance with state continuing education requirements for administrators.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:
Proven experience teaching or supervising secondary and adult education students.
Minimum of five years of teaching experience.
Strong leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
Excellent communication abilities, including writing, speaking, active listening, problem-solving, and collaboration.
Knowledge of online programming.
Understanding of post-secondary planning and career pathways, ensuring students are prepared for college, vocational training, and the workforce. .
Familiarity with local, state, and federal accountability and assessments.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
Administrative experience at the secondary level.
Experience teaching or supervising students in alternative programs and adult education.
Background in curriculum development, best teaching practices, continuous improvement planning, online programming, and data-driven decision-making.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Develop and monitor overall goals and action plans for the program.
Oversee student behavior management.
Maintain and enhance effective instructional programs for alternative high school students.
Recruit, retain, and track student progress.
Foster a positive school climate, being responsive to the needs of students and staff.
Ensure exemplary academic advising and maintain accurate student records.
Supervise enrollment, testing, and attendance procedures.
Provide career exploration opportunities for students, facilitating job seeking and transitions to postsecondary education and training.
Enforce student behavior expectations as outlined in the handbook and board policy.
Evaluate teachers and support staff using established evaluation tools.
Conduct interviews, hire, and evaluate staff while ensuring due process is followed.
Supervise staff and programs to ensure efficient and effective operations.
Facilitate professional development opportunities for staff.
Prepare and submit reports as requested by the Superintendent.
Ensure compliance with reporting requirements for alternative education.
Oversee audits and reports related to adult and alternative education.
Assist in writing grant proposals for local, state, and federal funds and oversee compliance with grant requirements, such as 31-A.
Attend Board of Education meetings and maintain effective communication with Board members and the Superintendent.
Represent Omni High School at relevant Saginaw Intermediate School District meetings and others.
Plan and facilitate school improvement meetings for Omni High School staff.
Prepare, oversee, and monitor the budget for alternative education, ensuring financial viability.
Plan and manage marketing and publicity efforts for the program.
Maintain memberships and engage with local, state, and national organizations relevant to education.
Collaborate with district administrators to ensure the delivery of quality instructional programs.
Other duties as assigned by the Superintendent.
