The Role
We’re reintroducing our Multisensory Structured Language (MSL) program, grounded in Orton-Gillingham principles and the Slingerland Approach. We’re looking for the right person to lead this work—someone who understands structured literacy and believes deeply in the potential of all learners.
 
What You’ll Do
 
• Lead and develop the Student Support program across all grade levels

• Deliver MSL-based instruction to students with language-based learning needs

• Use Orton-Gillingham and Slingerland methods, including explicit handwriting instruction (manuscript and cursive) to strengthen kinesthetic pathways

• Support general education teachers with classroom strategies, accommodations, and progress monitoring

• Develop and manage student learning plans and diagnostic tools

• Promote the use of multisensory practices across all content areas

• Collaborate with families and outside providers to support student growth

• Help shape a program that’s responsive, rigorous, and compassionate
 
What You Bring
 
• Training or certification in Orton-Gillingham, Slingerland, or MSL-based instruction

• Experience working with students who have dyslexia or other learning differences

• Strong grasp of structured literacy: phonology, orthography, morphology, syntax, semantics

• A clear, direct instructional style grounded in evidence-based practice

• Ability to collaborate with teachers, specialists, and families

• A heart for Catholic education and a commitment to inclusive learning

St. Thomas More School, an award-winning speech and mock trial school, is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Preschool Aide to join our team. This role supports our mission to nurture young learners in a faith-based environment that fosters academic and personal growth.
 
Responsibilities:
 
• Collaborate effectively with the lead teacher to create a nurturing and engaging learning environment.
• Model best practices in early childhood interactions and implement positive discipline strategies.
• Assist in the development of activities supporting social-emotional, cognitive, and physical growth.
• Respond to and initiate communication with the lead teacher to ensure seamless classroom operations.
• Adapt to and prioritize unplanned duties while maintaining program needs and requirements.
• Perform classroom sanitation tasks, including sweeping, vacuuming, mopping, and using cleaning products as needed.
• Encourage public speaking and foundational communication skills in preparation for elementary and middle school speech and mock trial programs.
 
Qualifications:
 
• Prior experience in early childhood education and teaching preschool.
• Proven ability to work collaboratively with teachers and staff.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to handle sensitive situations with tact and confidentiality.
• Capacity to work independently while being a supportive team player.
• Flexible and adaptable to changing classroom needs and priorities.
• Physical ability to perform regular cleaning and classroom maintenance tasks.
