  We have an opening for a  1st Grade Teacher for the 2025-26 school year. The  teacher will be responsible to teach reading, math, religion, science, and social studies with a strong emphasis on reading and math.  The teacher should be an active, practicing Catholic, hold a current, valid Washington State Teaching Certificate or be in the process of obtaining one, and have successful teaching experience at this level.
The 1st grade teacher will be required to work 30 minutes before the start of the school day and 30 minutes after school (7:40 - 3:30 PM).  

Our 1st Grade teacher would:
1. Plan, implement, and evaluate the 1st Grade class goals and objectives.
2. Assure the planning and implementation of age-appropriate instructional activities that further the Catholic philosophy and goals of the school.
The teacher would be able to teach the Catholic faith to this age group and ensure that the classroom atmosphere fosters and reflects the Catholic faith, encourages Christian leadership, and integrates Catholic values into daily classroom activities whenever possible.
3. Select and organize curriculum and instructional materials that accommodate learner differences and plan for both long-term and short-term instructional goals.
4. Instruct students, monitor student understanding, and reteach when necessary.
5. Evaluate student progress to improve quality of instruction and maintain accurate and current records.
6. Establish and maintain consistent, appropriate student behavior and use/teach consistent strategies to resolve conflict effectively.
7. Communicate effectively with school administrators, fellow staff members, parents, and students.
8. Encourage parents as the primary educators in faith of their children and support parents in this important responsibility.
9. Work toward (and eventually attain) the Seattle Archdiocese's catechetical certification.
10. Maintain all clearances with CICS and the Safe Environment Program.

Salary: Budget is $55,000, range is $48,000 to $74,000, depending on relevant work experience. Any offered salary is determined based on internal equity, internal salary ranges, market data, applicant's skills and prior relevant experience, degrees, and certifications.
