    JOB SUMMARY

    Eastside Catholic is seeking a Middle School Religious Studies Teacher for the 2025-26 school year. 

     

    The ideal candidate is a practicing Catholic who is eager to be a part of a vibrant, faith-based educational community. The candidate will have enthusiasm for teaching middle school students, the Catholic faith and other religious traditions, with excellent communication and collaborative skills, and the ability to build positive relationships with students, families and colleagues. 

    Specific Responsibilities
    • Implement Archdiocese of Seattle middle school theology standards for grades 6-8
    • Serve as mentor teacher for a small group of middle school students
    • Create and deliver engaging, age-appropriate lessons that foster spiritual growth and moral development
    Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
    • Practicing Catholic committed to working with middle school students in a progressive, faith-based school rooted in the Catholic tradition and social justice
    • Passion for teaching middle school students and a deep understanding of their developmental needs and subject material
    • Experience with differentiated instruction to support a variety of learning styles and abilities
    • Proficient in the use of educational technology in the classroom
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a focus on positive relationship-building with students and their families
    • Strong interpersonal, collaborative and organizational skills
    • A commitment to practices that promote equity, inclusion and belonging
    Education and experience
    • Bachelor’s degree required; master’s degree preferred with completed coursework in religious studies or theology
    • Experience in a classroom instructional setting preferred
    Salary Range: $54,500 – $109,105 Any offered salary is determined based on internal equity, internal salary ranges, market data, applicant’s skills and prior relevant experience, degrees, and certifications.
