Maintenance Skilled Craftsman - HVACR QUALIFICATIONS: - High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Current Delaware Division of Professional Regulation Master HVACR License (preferred).
- Previous experience in HVACR maintenance, installation and repair required.
- Possess knowledge of all local and state building codes, with the ability to install materials to code.
- Possess basic technology and computer skills.
- Willingness to work as a member of a team and exhibit sound interpersonal skills.
- Work independently with minimal supervision.
- Able to perform essential job functions on site in year-round weather conditions, lifting 50 lbs., climbing ladders, walking/standing for long periods of time, and completion of tasks requiring full range of movement. In addition, must be able to operate machinery.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES: - Work in collaboration with other maintenance and custodial crew to ensure facilities are well-maintained.
- Advise on the construction of schools and scheduled renovations.
- Learn new systems in order to provide ongoing preventative maintenance and support.
- Assume responsibility for day-to-day operations of all HVAC systems.
- Maintain current HVAC systems including boilers, chillers, and individual HVAC systems.
- Respond to failures in current HVAC system to troubleshoot and fix all systems.
- Install new systems in outbuildings or specific areas of buildings.
- Establish and perform regular maintenance routine for all HVAC systems.
- Assist with coordinating service from outside HVAC companies and vendors to ensure quality of work.
- Perform service and maintenance on all refrigeration systems.
- Communicate effectively with maintenance crew, custodians, and school administration to ensure messages are shared about HVAC system quality and maintenance needs.
- Keep accurate records on equipment repairs, installation, and modification.
- Exhibit positive and professional interaction with all employees, students, and community members.
- Support custodial duties if necessary.
- Other duties as assigned.
Additional Duties Performs other related duties, as assigned, for the purpose of ensuring a clean, safe work environment.

SPECIAL CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT: All new state employees will be required to participate in the State of Delaware's Direct Deposit system. With direct deposit, wage and salary payments are deposited in the employee's bank account via electronic funds transfer.
All final candidates for employment must have a satisfactory criminal background check before being placed on contract/payroll as per State of Delaware regulations. Final candidates must also produce documentation of Mantoux skin test results for entrance to school system.
