LUNCH MONITOR
JOB DESCRIPTION:
To maintain schools and other facilities to the extent that students and employees can work in a healthy and safe environment.
To work collaboratively with department and building administration.
To foster an inclusive work environment maintaining high morale.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Excellent attendance record.
Fluent written and verbal English and Arabic are preferred.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other employees, students and the general public.
Knowledge of and/or ability to learn occasional hazards and safety precautions.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
Supervises students in the cafeteria during lunch periods in the serving line, while eating, and during cafeteria dismissal.
Maintains discipline in the cafeteria according to school policies.
Reports all student injuries, accidents, illnesses, and discipline problems to the appropriate authority immediately, or as soon as reasonably possible.
Assists students in securing trays, food, seating, and dismissal.
Assists cafeteria staff in cleaning up spills, accidents, etc.
Takes all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities.
Complies with and supports school and department regulations and policies.
Models non-discriminatory practices in all activities.
Communicates effectively and efficiently with the cafeteria staff to assist students with their needs.
Monitor the children during recess as students must be supervised at all times.
Monitors interact with children on the playground to maintain order and provide assistance when it’s needed.
Perform all other duties as assigned by the Food Service Supervisor.

COMPENSATION: $13.30 an hour
EVALUATION: Annual
EFFECTIVE DATE: 2024-25 School Year
