Long Term Art Teacher Position Available
Come be a part of a true community as a long-term substitute elementary art teacher in Plainville!
Prior experience in elementary teaching preferred. Ideal candidate will demonstrate proficiency in curriculum, instruction, and assessment, establish strong connections with students and families, collaborate effectively within a team, excel in classroom management, and possess a sense of humor and enthusiasm for the arts. As a member of the team, you'll be ready to provide instruction in various art techniques, including drawing, painting, sculpture, and mixed media and foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment where students feel empowered to explore, express themselves, and grow artistically. Excitement and desire to work across departments and collaborate with other specialist areas is essential. Exceptional interpersonal skills, professionalism, integrity, and ability to collaborate with all staff members are vital. Bachelor's Degree and Connecticut certification in art are required. The anticipated dates of this Long Term Substitute position are May 5th through sometime in October 2025. Long term substitute rate of pay is $150 per day for the first 40 days and then the BA rate of the teachers bargaining contract.
