Primary Purpose:
Responsible for a wide range of activities and a broad spectrum of technology. Including but not limited to servers/workstations, Windows/Linux/Mac operating systems, LAN/WAN and telephony hardware. These activities will include the troubleshooting and resolution of highly complex network, server and application issues, working with internal organizations and coworkers on product wide issues as well as product readiness projects. Will directly interact with PISD staff on high visibility and complex technical issues. Qualifications:
Education/Certification:
- Bachelor's, Associates, or Technical degree
- Or at least four documented years related experience
- Or documented equivalent combination of education and experience
- Have a valid Texas Driver’s License and maintain insurance requirements of PISD
- Must pass drug test and physical and be part of a random drug testing program. Must pass criminal history check
Special Knowledge/ Skills/Experience
- Documented experience in an Active Directory based Microsoft server environment.
- Documented experience working with Windows servers and enterprise applications.
- Hands-on experience working with network printing solutions.
- Knowledge, understanding, and practical application of technologies, protocols, and related standards including TCP/IP, Ethernet, LAN, WAN, and IP routers.
- Knowledge and understanding of DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP.
- Excellent organizational, documentation, analytical and problem-solving skills required (MS Visio and OneNote experience a plus).
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities and easily adapt to changing needs.
- Work well with other technical and management professionals.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
- Oversee work distribution and productivity of other Network Technicians and Help Desk.
- Oversee projects and supervise contractors and other PISD staff.
- Maintain and document the districts standards for applications and district supported products.
- Installation, configuration, and maintenance of Windows Server 2012+ systems.
- Ongoing support for the districts internal user community, including monitoring system performance and availability of district systems
- Support, manage, troubleshoot multiple district enterprise systems including Active Directory, Google domain, centralize network printing, SCCM, security camera management system, SQL based applications, district wide work order system, etc.
- Utilize network monitoring software to maintain network services.
- Interact with users and evaluate vendor products as needed.
- Participate in systems testing and document results as needed.
- Install\Configure network printers, security cameras and other hardware as required.
- Maintain inventory and documentation of network infrastructure and technologies.
- Work closely with the network administrator’s team on related issues and troubleshooting.
