    JOB DESCRIPTION:

    OLDHAM COUNTY BOARD OF EDUCATION ADMINISTRATIVE REGULATION

    DISTRICT TECHNOLOGY SPECIALIST                                                                       1026.02AR
     
    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
    1. High School diploma, GED, or high school equivalency diploma.
    2. Forty hours of training in technology (i.e. Microsoft Windows 7 or later, Databases, Windows Server 2012 R2 or later, others).
    3. Training in Server and/or Network Administration.
    4. Have knowledge of hardware and software on both Windows and Apple platforms.
    5. Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with a variety of groups.
    6. Demonstrated ability to provide service to network, computers and printers.
    7. A+ Certification.
    8. Certification in area of specialty.
    9. Must be able to lift, push or pull 40 pounds and also be able to bend at the waist, kneel and reach above your head.
    REPORTS TO: District Infrastructure and Hardware Coordinator
    JOB GOAL: Provide Technology support within the district.
    PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
    1. Complete installation, management, updating and troubleshooting of software and hardware (including servers, computers, printers, installation of software, etc.) within the district as assigned.
    2. Provide server and network maintenance and upgrades (including but not limited to Windows, VMware and SQL).
    3. Coordinate parts purchasing through Tech administrative assistant.
    4. Organize and maintain wired and wireless networks.
    5. Maintain and update servers, switches, routers, wireless access points and related software.
    6. Provide troubleshooting support for schools.
    7. Maintain and provide support for the setup, installation and management of district-wide digital media and security products and services.
    8. Implement district-wide technology vision, plans, direction and growth in compliance with guidelines.
    9. Other duties assigned by the District Infrastructure and Hardware Coordinator.
    TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
    Compensation will be determined based on 260 contract days on the board approved 115 salary schedule. This position requires an 8-hour workday.
