JOB DESCRIPTION:
OLDHAM COUNTY BOARD OF EDUCATION ADMINISTRATIVE REGULATION
DISTRICT TECHNOLOGY SPECIALIST 1026.02AR
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: - High School diploma, GED, or high school equivalency diploma.
- Forty hours of training in technology (i.e. Microsoft Windows 7 or later, Databases, Windows Server 2012 R2 or later, others).
- Training in Server and/or Network Administration.
- Have knowledge of hardware and software on both Windows and Apple platforms.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with a variety of groups.
- Demonstrated ability to provide service to network, computers and printers.
- A+ Certification.
- Certification in area of specialty.
- Must be able to lift, push or pull 40 pounds and also be able to bend at the waist, kneel and reach above your head.
REPORTS TO: District Infrastructure and Hardware Coordinator
JOB GOAL: Provide Technology support within the district.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES: - Complete installation, management, updating and troubleshooting of software and hardware (including servers, computers, printers, installation of software, etc.) within the district as assigned.
- Provide server and network maintenance and upgrades (including but not limited to Windows, VMware and SQL).
- Coordinate parts purchasing through Tech administrative assistant.
- Organize and maintain wired and wireless networks.
- Maintain and update servers, switches, routers, wireless access points and related software.
- Provide troubleshooting support for schools.
- Maintain and provide support for the setup, installation and management of district-wide digital media and security products and services.
- Implement district-wide technology vision, plans, direction and growth in compliance with guidelines.
- Other duties assigned by the District Infrastructure and Hardware Coordinator.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
Compensation will be determined based on 260 contract days on the board approved 115 salary schedule. This position requires an 8-hour workday.
