QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s degree in education, appropriate New Jersey Teacher certification in special education; or Educational Services certificate, Master’s Degree and Board Certified Behavior Analyst certificate
Specialized training and/or demonstrated expertise in school-based Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA)
Experience working with special education populations
Training in crisis management preferred
Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board deems appropriate and acceptable under state law
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Accurately completes all requisite paperwork (attendance and reports) in a timely fashion and in approved formats
Provides for the care and proper use of school property and maintains current inventories of materials/resources
Attends Individualized Education Plan and educational planning meetings to provide input on the appropriate use of behavioral procedures for certain students
Regards personal information concerning students or families as confidential and utilizes such information only as an aide in helping the student to attain appropriate educational goals
Communicates effectively and efficiently to families, professionals, and ancillary service providers in reference to the principles of ABA and individual applications
Trains, supports, and implements crisis training protocols and procedures in accordance with State and District policies
Trains staff on how to implement individual performance and learning protocols pertinent to the needs of students (i.e. induction of developmental cusps and capabilities, Direct Instruction programs).
Develops and disseminates professional development in-services
Offers embedded professional development by modeling behavior management and instructional strategies based on the principles of ABA on a routine basis in the classroom setting
Provides group parent/family training and individual parent/family training on as needed basis during the school day
Evaluates and analyzes individual student’s comprehensive learning and performance needs, through direct observation and including the use of Functional Behavioral Assessments
Creates, implements, and monitors accurate data collection formats for protocol analysis
Addresses and implements performance behavior strategies in accordance with school law, state regulations, school board policy, and procedures, and current best practices
Coordinates the implementation and monitoring of learning and performance protocols across settings, time, and providers, utilizing the best current practice methodologies in field of ABA
Collaborates with various professionals and non-professionals in the development, implementation and maintenance of individual and/or group behavior support plans
Demonstrates interest, effort, and continued professional growth as related to the field of ABA
Perform such other duties as assigned by the Superintendent or his designee
