LOCATION OF POSITION: Monroe One BOCES – 41 O’Connor Road, Fairport NY 14450; Behavioral Health Services

TERM OF EMPLOYMENT: Full Time; 10 Month Position

STARTING DATE: As Soon As Possible

SALARY RANGE: $48,000 - $78,401 per school year
*Actual Salary Is Dependent Upon Education, Experience and Contract.

DUTIES:
1. Complete comprehensive psycho-educational assessment/reevaluation and documentation of student performance and progress, as required. 
2. Participate on professional educational teams in the development and delivery of Individual Education Programs, including appropriate classroom instruction, social/emotional/behavioral intervention supports. and behavioral intervention programs.
3. Collaborate with the educational team in the development, revision and implementation of Functional Behavior Assessments and Behavior Intervention Plans and classroom positive behavior support systems.
4. Deliver social skills groups, mental health interventions and crisis support.
5. Provide outreach and collaboration to outside agencies, organizations, and school districts, as needed.
6. Provide parent support and education as needed.
7. Contribute to program and department initiatives to further positive social, behavioral, and educational supports.
 
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Master's Degree level in School Psychology or PhD in Clinical Psychology.
2. Provisional or Permanent Certification as a NYS School Psychologist.
3. Experienced in providing counseling and supportive mental health services to students with disabilities.
4. Versed in psycho-educational assessment using multiple cognitive, achievement, adaptive and/or behavioral measures.
5. Demonstrate technical skills to effectively fill the role of School Psychologist.
6. Training in Life Crisis Intervention strategies - TCI, SCIP-R or similar problem-solving strategies preferred.
7. Physically able to perform essential functions of the position (with or without reasonable accommodation).

DESCRIPTION:  School Social Worker provides counseling, assessment, classroom support, mental health consultation, family and community outreach for students receiving supportive services through Monroe One BOCES.

DUTIES:
1. Consult and team with teachers and other disciplines in the development and delivery of Individual Education Programs, including appropriate social/emotional/behavioral supports.
2. Provide individual and group counseling as defined by IEP and based on students’ needs.
3. Support students with crisis counseling, as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Master of Social Work from accredited graduate school of Social Work.
2. NYS Provisional or Permanent Certification as a School Social Worker.  
3. Experience in providing counseling, group interventions and supportive mental health services to students with disabilities.
4. Understanding of NYS Special Education laws, regulations, and processes.
5. Knowledge of family and child supportive community resources.  
6. Demonstrate technical skills to effectively fill the role of School Social Worker.

1. Evaluate, plan program, and provide speech-language services for students with disabilities, 5 - 21 years of age.
2. Communicate with parents, teachers, other involved professionals, and appropriate community agencies/services.
3. Development and implementation of IEPs (including preparation for annual reviews and re-evaluations) addressing communication skills as they Integrate with academics, based on students’ needs.
4. Provide thorough and timely reporting consistent with Department policies and program requirements.
5. Participate in departmental, program, and building meetings, team meetings; and staffing.
6. Implement various service delivery models.
7. Establish and maintain a daily schedule.
8. Establish and maintain professional working relationships with other Professionals, parents, students, and department colleagues.
9. Maintain credentials through ongoing professional development.

QUALIFICATIONS:
1. NYS Certification as a Teacher of the Speech and Hearing Handicapped/Teacher of Students with Speech/Language Disabilities.
2. NYS License as a Speech-Language Pathologist required.
3. ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology preferred.
4. Experience with school age special and general education populations preferred.
5. Experience with itinerant service delivery models preferred.
6. Experience with neuro-developmental approaches preferred.
7. Experience and/or knowledge of assistive technology and AAC preferred.
