Description: 
Climate Specialist for the District Elementary Summer School for students entering Grades 1-5.
 
Qualifications:
The Climate Specialist should have strong interpersonal skills, professionalism, and an ability to work with all students, including those requiring additional support in meeting behavioral expectations.    

General Duties and Responsibilities:
The Climate Specialist will perform the following duties in cooperation with and under the direction of the District Elementary School Director.
 
Support students in acquiring appropriate social, behavioral and academic skills.
 
1. Implement verbal management and de-escalation techniques.
2. Communicate appropriately with students and staff.
3. Employ Restorative Practices, Strategies to support PBIS, or other strategies that support a positive climate.
4. Engage in mediation to assist students with conflict.
5. Assist with the arrival and dismissal of students.
6. Supervise the cafeteria during breakfast and lunch.
7. Substitute as needed.
 
Salary:
Per Salary Schedule for 2024-2025 School Year
