DESCRIPTION:
A district-wide floating cafeteria worker assists in the preparation and serving of all meals. Guaranteed minimum of 30working hours per week, but may be assigned up to 40 working hours per week. Long-term assignments/placement at one school may be required. Other duties include: cleaning and sanitizing work stations, running a cash register, putting stock away and any other duties as assigned by the cafeteria manager on-site. A cafeteria worker performs duties that require lifting and/or carrying objects up to 50 pounds in weight and being on your feet for the work day.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be available to work between the hours of 5:45 am and 2:30 pm, Monday - Friday
- Must have reliable transportation to work and during work hours
- Must be able to drive a utility van if necessary
- Must be flexible and able to work at all schools in district
- Must be able to learn the cash register and possess responsible cash-handling abilities at an elementary, middle and high school level
- Must have basic computer skills
QUALIFICATIONS:
Applicants must have knowledge of food techniques, be able to follow written and oral instructions and operate food service equipment, including computerized cash registers. Applicants should show accuracy and ability in working with figures, manual dexterity and be able to lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds. Applicants must be in good health and free of communicable diseases. Preference will be given to applicants with recent experience in food preparation and service.
SALARY:
$17.87 - $18.37 with the full benefits of the Cafeteria Workers union contract
