Job Title: Maintenance Technician (Preferred HVAC Experience)
Job Summary:
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for ensuring the proper functioning and upkeep of school facilities, systems, and equipment. This role involves performing preventive maintenance, addressing repairs, and supporting a safe and comfortable environment for students, staff, and visitors. Preference will be given to candidates with HVAC experience to maintain and repair heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
1. General Maintenance:
- Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair building systems, including plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and general structural repairs.
- Perform routine inspections to identify maintenance needs and safety concerns.
- Ensure school grounds are safe and well-maintained.
2. HVAC Systems:
- Operate, maintain, and repair heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems.
- Conduct routine checks and preventive maintenance of HVAC equipment to ensure optimal performance.
- Diagnose and resolve HVAC issues, including mechanical, electrical, and system calibration concerns.
3. Preventive Maintenance:
- Follow schedules for preventative maintenance of building systems and equipment.
- Maintain records of maintenance activities, inspections, and repairs.
4. Safety and Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations regarding building and safety standards.
- Address safety hazards promptly and assist in emergency response as needed.
5. Collaboration and Communication:
- Work closely with school administrators, staff, and contractors to coordinate maintenance activities.
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders about repair timelines and facility updates.
Preferred Qualifications:
· High school diploma or equivalent; trade school or technical certifications are a plus.
· Minimum of 2 years of experience in building maintenance or a related field.
· HVAC certification or significant experience with HVAC systems is strongly preferred.
· Basic proficiency in plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and mechanical repairs.
· Knowledge of safety regulations and building codes.

· Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
· Good physical condition, with the ability to lift heavy objects, climb ladders, and work in confined spaces.

Work Environment:
