 Lewis-Palmer School District 38, located in Monument, CO is looking for a special education paraprofessional to begin in the 2025-2026 school year. This person is responsible for assisting students with significant support needs in the Special Education Transition program (18 to 21 years old), to acquire and maintain appropriate employment skills relative to the students’ needs in various community businesses. Supervision may include assistance with a variety of daily functions such as behavior support, communication skills, and basic life skills. Supervision may also include a range of services, from individual care to itinerant support in order to maximize personal independence. This person will collaborate and consult with a support team and other specialists, transport students to and from various worksites and/or other District activities in a small District vehicle, and develop and promote good community relations among various community businesses and organizations.

The starting hourly wage for a classified position ranges from $19.15- $20.71 and is dependent upon relevant previous experience. Applications will be reviewed as they are received. This position will be open until filled. 

Full-time employees, employed at least thirty hours per week, of Lewis-Palmer School District are eligible for health insurance plans that include medical, dental, vision, and life insurance. Lewis-Palmer School District 38, located in Monument, CO, is looking for a Special Education Generalist for students ages 18-21 in our Transition Program beginning with the 2025-2026 school year.  Must have or be eligible to receive a Colorado teacher license with a Special Education Generalist endorsement. Must be able to develop and modify curriculum to meet needs of individual students. Teach lessons on a regular basis on transition topics including life skills, post-secondary planning, self determination, work based skills, resumes/ applications/ interviewing skills. This position will collaborate with community businesses to establish work experience and job shadowing opportunities. Must also be eligible for a district driver license. Must be able to collaborate with IEP teams to write meaningful transition plans, determine post-secondary goals and transition services, and/or serve as a resource to special education case managers. Exact placement on the pay schedule will be determined by the Director of Human Resources upon contracting.  A Sub Staff Support position is divided into three categories:

General Duties:

Duties specific to Substitute Paraprofessional :

• Uses physical restraint or seclusion in compliance with state and federal law and District policies and procedures in instances where there is danger to the student or other students.
• Responds to the physical and behavioral needs of students in cooperation with the bus driver, during transportation to/from school.

Duties Specific to a Substitute Monitor:
• Attends to the supervision of children at all times including: playground (Dress according to weather), lunchroom, hallways and study halls
• Deals with students concerns in a fair, consistent manner
• Reports any accidents to the school office as soon as practicable
• Informs classroom teachers of accidents, injuries, or illness of students during lunch or recess time (as well as office depending on time and place of injury/illness)
• Aids in cleaning tables, as needed
• Dismisses students in a timely manner
• Perform other job-related tasks as directed by the Supervisor

Duties Specific to a Substitute Clerical Support Staff:
• Operate general office machines
• Operate basic computer functions
• Filing and retrieval

Lewis-Palmer School District 38 in Monument, CO, is looking for a Part-time Family Liaison (Spanish Speaking) for up to 29 hours per week, for the 2024-2025 school year. The hours are flexible based on need. The liasion wil serve non-English speaking families of children enrolled in the Multilingual Learner (ML) program. The ML Family Liaison provides information regarding district educational services to non-English speaking families. The Family Liaison will promote non-English speaking parent involvement through the use of a variety of activities, forums and practices available to students and families as well as school and/or district activities and procedures including referring families to other agencies and fostering an ongoing partnership between the home and district. The Liaison will assist with setting up and/or providing services for conferences/Back to School Nights, IEP’s, LAPs, ALPs, etc. and ensure parent awareness of school events. Depending on experiece, the pay will be between $25.19/hour to $27.28/hour.
