JOB REQUIREMENTS:    A valid driver’s license, good driving history, and valid proof of automobile insurance.  Experience as a minibus driver preferred.
JOB GOAL: Provide safe transport for the district’s homeless and foster student population and facilitate interaction between the district and its bus company partner.  A successful candidate will work part-time, 25 hours per week.
REPORTS TO:    Business Manager
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Utilize the Warrior Wagon minibus to provide out of district transport to the district’s McKinney-Vento eligible homeless and foster student population.
2. Provide mid-day transport home for sick students whose parent/guardian cannot transport.
3. Assist building transportation liaisons during morning or afternoon bus runs with communication between students, parents and the bus company.
4. Ability to work nontraditional hours (6am-11am or 1pm-6pm)
5. Retrieve video from bus company to assist buildings with student discipline and student health issues.
6. Performs other duties as assigned.

JOB DESCRIPTION:  Instructional Assistant
 
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
1. Minimum education requirement is a high school diploma.
2. Candidates must pass the ParaPro Assessment or have completed the equivalent of 60 hours of college credit.
 
REPORTS TO:  Building Principal and District Title One Director
 
SUPERVISES:  Supplemental Assistance for Classroom Teachers-Leveled Literacy Intervention Assistance
 
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 
The Title One Instructional Assistants will provide supplemental assistance to the regular classroom teacher with the following tasks/responsibilities:
 
1. Following teacher-developed plans and maintaining a classroom climate that is conducive to learning.
2. Knowing specific needs of students, and encouraging student independence in their learning.
3. Following the established schedule, and at the same time, being flexible with necessary changes.
4. Maintaining student data.
 
In addition to the supplemental services listed above, the Title One Instructional Assistants will:
5. Attend professional development to learn methods for working with struggling students;
6. Learn and oversee the use of software and print materials for students;
7. Communicate in a positive manner with students, parents and staff.
8. Provide a positive role model for students.
9. Maintain confidentiality with student learning, behavior and discipline information.
10. Work with others to support all student learners.
11. Perform such other duties as may be assigned by the Principals, classroom teacher, District Title One Director, or Assistant Superintendent.
12. Help the Title 1 teacher/facilitator keep the Title 1 library and school materials in an organized and orderly manner.
 
THE EMPLOYEE SHALL REMAIN FREE OF ANY ALCOHOL OR NONPRESCRIBED CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE ABUSE IN THE WORKPLACE OR IN HIS/HER DUTIES THROUGHOUT HIS/HER EMPLOYMENT IN THE CORPORATION.
 
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:  School Year. Salary to be determined annually by the Board of School Trustees  
                                                and shall be effective January 1 of each calendar year.
 
EVALUATION: It is the Policy of the Lake Ridge School Board that the Title One Instructional Assistants be given a written evaluation by:
• Building Principals of his/her job performance a minimum of once per year AND
• The Title One Director of his/her job performance a minimum of once per year
Evaluations may be given whenever the Building Principals and/or the Title One Director deem it appropriate or necessary.
