    Job Description
    The Speech Language Pathologist will provide support to the case conference committee in identifying areas of needs for students with speech and language disorders. Will provide consultative and direct services and ensure staff are aware of development needs to make appropriate recommendations.
     
    Purpose
    ?             To provide diagnostic and intervention services for students with speech, language, and/or voice disorders in cooperation with appropriate district supervisors, teachers, parents and students.
     
    Preferred Experience
    ?             Skilled in basic computer operations – Word, spreadsheets, internet use, and data management. Including but not limited to Google platforms
    ?             Experience in the school setting preferred
     
    Qualifications
    ?             A Speech-Language Pathologist must hold a valid license from the Indiana Department of Education, Division of Professional Standards, and the Indiana Professional Licensing Agency (IPLA).  Certification from the 
                   American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) is preferred but not required. Clinical Fellows are encouraged to apply.
    ?             Licensing Area(s) include, but are not limited to, Speech Pathologist, Speech and Hearing Therapist, Speech Language and Hearing Clinician, or Communication Disorders
    ?             This position requires an active driver’s license, a reliable vehicle, and willingness to travel locally
     
    Essential Functions
    Purposeful Planning And Preparation
    ?             Utilize current and comprehensive content/specialty area knowledge for planning
    ?             Utilize current and appropriate practices and procedures for screening and evaluations.
    ?             Interpret assessment results, write reports, and make placement/service recommendations.
    Effective Instruction, Treatment And/Or Instructional Support
    ?             Maintain a therapy space that is well organized and materials are available when needed.
    ?             Implement appropriate progress monitoring procedures.
    ?             Promote generalization across settings.
    ?             Develop student understanding of lesson objectives.
    ?             Utilize strategies that promote student engagement.
    ?             Create a culture of respect and collaboration.
    Leadership And Professional Responsibilities
    ?             Advocate for student success.
    ?             Fulfill professional TOR/Caseload responsibilities.
    ?             Supervise assigned therapists assistant according to state supervision guidelines.
    ?             Efficiently manage scheduling of sessions.
    ?             Prepare for and participate in case conferences.
    ?             Develop appropriate and quality IEPs that will enable students to master their goals.
    ?             Collaborate and communicate professionally to promote student success.
    ?             Engage families in student learning.
    ?             Contribute to the school, district and/or co-op.
    ?             Advance professional skills and knowledge.
    ?             Carry out Due Process responsibilities as requested.

    ?             Must demonstrate a pattern of consistent attendance and on-time arrivals and departures to work and all related functions.
    ?             Must follow all local, state, & Federal laws related to school and the community and follow all locally established policies and procedures and maintain appropriate credentialing.
    ?             Must interact with students, colleagues, administrators, parents/families and community members in a respectful manner.
    ?             Must exhibit behavior in accordance with the established Earlywood Educational Evaluation System (“EES”) code of conduct and performs the function of the job in an ethical manner
     
    Work Environment
    ?             The work environment is fast-paced with minimal to high noise levels.
    ?             This position requires working independently as well as part of a team.
    ?             This position requires verbal and in person contact with others on a daily basis.
    ?             Contract hours align with the school hours in the building(s) assigned.
