The Farmington Public School District is looking for a Cafeteria Monitor for East Farms Elementary School (Grades K-4).  The position is 2.75 hours per day, 11:00 AM - 1:45 PM, school year ; no benefits
 
 
QUALIFICATIONS:
 
A.            Candidate should hold a high school diploma or its equivalent.
 
B.            Candidate should demonstrate the ability to communicate with students while maintaining  order with large student groups.
 
C.            Consideration will be given to the following:

GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
 
The monitor provides a variety of monitoring activities to provide order in large student gatherings.  This includes maintaining school discipline codes, attendance records for class periods assigned, controlling access from the outside and preparing student passes, as required. 
 
 
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
 
1.             Maintain student order in assigned areas.
 
2.             Prepare reports, as required
 
3.             Demonstrate ability to communicate with students
 
4.             Other related duties, as assigned

East Farms Elementary School is seeking an Instructional Paraprofessional (PT)
This position will work 4.75 hours per day, 180 days school year.  
This position includes 3 paid personal days, 5 sick days, and 4 paid holidays.

GENERAL DESCRIPTION: The instructional paraprofessional provides a variety of instructional services and classroom support to staff and students.  This includes carrying out teacher prepared lesson plans and supervising teacher-planned activities, assisting in the preparation of materials for instruction, and recording individual progress of students.  Paraprofessionals work under the direction of classroom teachers / case managers.

QUALIFICATIONS:                      
• Candidate should hold an Associate’s degree or 2 years of college credit or its equivalent (i.e. Para Professional Assessment).  Bachleor's degree preferred.
• Candidate should demonstrate the ability to develop and maintain a good rapport with students and possess a personable relationship with teachers.
• Consideration will be given to the following:
 
1. ability to carry out directions in both oral and written form.
2. various life/work experiences that contribute to the candidate’s overall preparedness.  Prior experience working with school age children is a plus.

 SALARY: $23.54 - $27.51 per hour depending upon experience (per FPSEU contract)

Elementary School: Permanent Building Substitute needed for the 2024-2025 school year!

This position will support Grades K-4 at East Farms Elementary School and occasionally other elementary schools in the district.

Permanent Building Sub daily pay rate: $130 per day!
 
All Permanent Building Substitues are guaranteed an assignment every day that school is in session.  Assignments will be made daily based on your home-school.  Position may terminate at the end of the 2024-2025 school year.          
 
General Description: The Elementary School Substitute Teacher is responsible for providing instruction and classroom management for students in the absence of the regular classroom teacher. The substitute teacher ensures a productive learning environment, follows lesson plans, and adapts instruction to meet the needs of students.
 
Key Responsibilities:
 
• Follow lesson plans provided by the regular classroom teacher to ensure continuity of instruction.
• Manage the classroom by maintaining student behavior and enforcing school rules and policies.
• Deliver instructional material in a clear, engaging, and effective manner.
• Provide supervision for students during lunch, recess, and other non-instructional times as needed.
• Address and support the individual needs of students, providing additional guidance or assistance when necessary.
• Communicate effectively with students, staff, and parents when necessary.
• Ensure the safety and well-being of students at all times.
• Report any issues or concerns to the regular teacher or principal.

• Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree preferred
• Prior experience working with children or in an educational setting is a plus.
• Ability to manage a classroom and adapt to a variety of teaching situations.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Patience, flexibility, and the ability to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
• Knowledge of basic educational principles and practices.
