Job Summary:
Brimley Area Schools is seeking a passionate and dedicated Middle School Math Teacher to join our team of educators. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mathematics and a commitment to fostering a positive and engaging learning environment for students in grades 6-8. The teacher will be responsible for delivering curriculum-aligned instruction that supports student growth and academic achievement.
Key Responsibilities:
• Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that align with state standards and the school curriculum.
• Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse learning needs of students.
• Utilize a variety of teaching methods and instructional strategies to promote student understanding and problem-solving skills.
• Assess student progress regularly through formative and summative assessments and adjust instruction accordingly.
• Foster a classroom environment that encourages collaboration, respect, and a love of learning.
• Incorporate technology and innovative teaching practices to enhance student learning.
• Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues to support student success.
• Participate in professional development opportunities and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement.
• Support and uphold school policies, procedures, and expectations for student behavior and academic integrity.
• Engage in extracurricular activities, school events, and student support initiatives as needed.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Education, or a related field.
• Valid Michigan Teaching Certification with an endorsement in Mathematics (or ability to obtain certification).
• Previous teaching experience at the middle school level preferred.
• Strong knowledge of middle school math curriculum and best instructional practices.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and classroom management skills.
• Commitment to fostering a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
