Position Overview: Brimley Area Schools is seeking a dedicated, reliable, and enthusiastic Food Service Employee to join our school district’s food service team. In this role, you will play a critical part in providing nutritious meals and supporting a healthy educational environment for students and staff in our K-12 schools.

Key Responsibilities:
• Assist in preparing, cooking, and serving nutritious meals according to district and USDA guidelines.
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen areas, cafeteria, and equipment.
• Set up and break down meal service lines and food stations.
• Operate standard kitchen equipment safely and efficiently.
• Adhere to proper food handling and storage procedures.
• Provide friendly and courteous service to students, staff, and visitors.
• Assist with inventory management, including stocking shelves, rotating supplies, and restocking serving areas.
• Participate in professional development and training sessions related to food safety, sanitation, and nutrition.

Qualifications:
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Knowledge of basic food safety and sanitation guidelines.
• Ability to work cooperatively as part of a team.
• Must pass a background check and fingerprinting process as required by Michigan law for employment in public schools.

Applicants must possess:
Working knowledge of quantity food preparation, sanitation principals, menu planning, inventory control, record keeping/cash handling, and production schedules
Demonstrated knowledge of Federal and State Laws, rules and regulations, and related reporting requirements for the Food Service Program
Strong computer skills
Ability to set standards for operational procedures of efficient and effective food production and service
Ability to provide an environment conducive in protecting the health and well being of the school's children through high levels of food safety
Ability to lead a team within the food service department
Ability to demonstrate critical thinking and problem solving skills
Must be dependable and punctual
Must be Serv Safe certified
