Achievement Department by serving teachers, principals, and staff across our PreK-12 system. The coordinator is responsible for district-wide program evaluation, assessment, and research; and provides leadership, guidance, professional development, assistance, and support to build staff capacity in making data-informed decisions in working towards continuous improvement.
Qualifications: - Graduate degree (EDD or PHD preferred) in Education, Ed. Leadership, Ed. Psychology, data science or related field
- Administrative licensure (preferred)
- Current Minnesota teaching license (preferred)
- Minimum five years of experience in one or more of the following areas:
- Classroom teaching experience
- K-12 administrative experience
- Leadership experience in coordinating programming at the district level (preferred)
- Experience with research methods, including both quantitative and qualitative approaches
- Experience with data analysis software and student information systems
- Experience with coordination of large-scale assessments, including state-required assessments
- Understanding of systems and organizational change, and experience in leading change
- Knowledge of education research around educational assessment
- Strong ability to gather and analyze statistical data, and develop reports
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw conclusions
- Ability to move back and forth between vision and detail work seamlessly
- Commitment to equity and culturally responsive teaching

Responsibilities: - Provides project management for district-wide implementation for Data Warehouse / Data Dashboard
- Works in cooperation with district leadership to review, analyze and respond to data; including achievement, perception, fidelity, and other quantitative/qualitative data
- Provide leadership in program evaluation and data collection, focused on continuous improvement
- Provides consulting and professional development to department and site leaders/staff
- Supports building administrators with developing continuous improvement plans, progress monitoring, and program evaluation.
- Provides overall coordination for administration of state and locally determined district-wide assessments (including but not limited to MCAs, CogAT, MAP, ACCESS, PreACT, ACT, PSAT)
- Ensure compliance with District 196 policy, state statute, and MDE requirements regarding assessment
- Represents district assessment interests to MDE and metropolitan assessment group
- Coordinates with staff / departments for the purpose of ensuring integrity and accuracy of student data.
- Coordinates the assessment reporting process, including preparation of annual reports, presentations, news releases, and updates to the district website.
- Attend meetings as needed at the Minnesota Department of Education (MDE)
- Provides support for student and program data for the American Indian Education Program, including requests from TNEC, MDE, and funding grant agencies.
- Respond to data requests
- Collaborates with other district departments
- Collaborate with colleagues to provide support to the Curriculum and Instruction Advisory Council
- Assist with recruiting, screening, hiring, training, assigning, and evaluating of personnel
- Supervise certified and classified personnel as assigned, and provide leadership
- Manage designated budget(s)
- Prepares technical reports
- Collaborate in facilitating long-range and short term planning
- Collaborates with other Teaching and Learning Coordinators and department staff on special projects
- Convenes and facilitates district committees as needed
- Prepare board exhibits, and presents information to the board of education as needed
- Performs such other tasks and assumes other responsibilities as the Director of Instruction and Achievement
