Brief Job Duties:
The ideal candidate will have experience in the following areas:
- Prepares student Individualized Education Plans: In consultation with parents and IEP team members, drafts, develops , and implements IEP’s and transition plans with measurable goals.
- Completes all special education paperwork accurately, according to regulations, and submits them on time.
- Creates a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of the students.
- Employs a variety of instructional techniques and instructional media, consistent with the physical limitations of the location provided and the needs and capabilities of the individuals or student groups involved.

Certification/License:
1. Eligible for appropriate Maine Department of Education certification. (282/286)
2. Criminal History Record Check (CHRC), which includes Fingerprints on file with the Maine Department of Education
Education:
1. Bachelors from an accredited college or university in education or related discipline applicable to teaching assignment.- Masters Degree in related area preferred.
Experience: - Experience with students with moderate and severe disabilities.
- Applied Behavior Analysis and Positive Behavior Support training is required.
- Organizational skill and ability to lead a large team and work cooperatively with others.
