SCHOOL AGE CHILD CARE (SACC) CAREGIVER
SUMMARY: Provide a safe quality care program to families with students in a Washington County Schools.
SALARY SCHEDULE: SACC Classified Pay Schedule
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCES:
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- High School Diploma (or GED)
- Background checks
- Strong communication skills
- Enjoys working with children and is child oriented
RESPONSIBILITIES/JOB DUTIES:
- Report to the School Age Child Care (SACC) Site Director
- Project a positive image of the Washington County School Age Child Care Program.
- Adhere to policies and procedures of the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA).
- Maintain a positive and professional attitude at all times.
- Assist students with homework, crafts and games.
- Develops and plans activities that are age appropriate and incorporated into the daily routine.
- Supervise students during all activities indoors and outdoors.
- Attend all staff meetings and other work related functions.
- Travel/transfer to a different SACC school locations depending on the program need and the adult to child ratio.
- Distribute juice and snacks during snack time
- Maintain assign areas neat and orderly.
- Knowledge of first aid and CPR procedures and the location of the programs first aid kit for use in emergencies.
- Notify the Site Director and Director in an appropriate amount of time regarding absences.
- Adhere to the Tennessee Department of Education Rules and Regulations.
- Maintain all safety requirements from both local and state officials
- Implement program’s Mission Statement
- Notify appropriate authorities and Program Director of suspected child abuse
- Responsible for knowledge of proper safety drill procedures to include evacuation procedures and safe areas within facility.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Site Director or SACC Program Director.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
This job requires lifting of objects that exceed 50 lbs., or the average weight of a child, if assigned to elementary grades, with frequent lifting and/or carrying of objects weighing up to 25 lbs or more. Other physical demands that may be required are as follows:

- Stooping, kneeling and/or crawling
- Reaching
- Talking
- Hearing
- Seeing
VOCATIONAL PREPARATION:
The required vocational preparation may come from any of the following:- Vocational education
- Apprentice training
- On-the-job training
- Essential experience in other jobs
