Purpose of the position: The HVACR technician is assigned to the WCDE Maintenance Department. The primary duties are to perform preventive maintenance; recognize origination of faulty equipment; calibrate, modify, relocate, and makes repairs on a variety of large complex refrigeration ·and air conditioning units. Role and Responsibilities (Essential Functions): The HVACR technician functions may include, but are not limited to the following duties and responsibilities: Routine maintenance of equipment including but not limited to changing filters, cleaning coils, greasing pumps. Diagnose equipment for electrical and refrigeration malfunctions and order parts and repair in a timely manner. Perform evaluations on equipment as to when repair or replacement is required. Work with minimal supervision, being able to complete assigned tasks. Create and maintain a preventative maintenance program for all HVACR equipment. Education Requirements (Required when applying for positions) High School Diploma or equivalent Vocational Certificate helpful job requirements: Minimum qualifications Must possess a minimum of two years experience in HVACR repairs; Must possess valid driver’s license; Must have electrical troubleshooting knowledge; Must be able to climb ladders; Must have basic computer skills, knowledge of building automation systems preferred; Must have EPA certification; Must be able to use hand and power tools and electrical testing equipment; Mental Demands Experiences frequent interruptions; required to meet flexible deadlines, requires concentration and attention to detail.
