                                                *Knowledge and ability to teach Graphic Design and Audio/Video Production utilizing the Adobe Creative Suite (Photo Shop, Illustrator, After Effects, In-Design, Premiere Pro) and a Multi-Camera Studio Production and Recording System (Newtek Tricaster).

BASIC FUNCTION/PURPOSE
                                                 
The Audio/Visual Technology and Communications Teacher provides curriculum instruction that promotes and supports college and career readiness in the AV Communications Pathway. The instructor will emphasize student proficiencies based on the National and State Career Technology Education Standards and Precision Exam Certification Program and stress pathway concentrators and completers for the A/V Communication Pathway. The instructor will also foster student interest in the A/V Career Field through a variety of A/V productions and video products which will be broadcast through USD 475’s local cable channel, Junction City High School’s Youtube video sharing website, Junction City High Schools On-Line Newspaper and USD 475 supported Social Media Sites.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Instruct students in technical competencies of Basic Graphic Design through Advanced Graphic Design as established by the National and State CTE Arts, A/V and Communications Career Cluster Standards for the AV Communications Pathway.
2. Instruct students in the technical and application level competencies of Audio/Video Fundamentals, Digital Media Technology and Audio/Video Production as established by the National and State CTE Arts, A/V Communications Career Cluster Standards for the AV Communications Pathway.
3. Submit required reports in a timely manner, participate in staff, department, committee, and team meetings.
4. Obtain instructional resources and materials through processes outlined by the Principal, CTE Coordinator and/or the Director of Teaching & Learning
5. Keep informed regarding new technologies that facilitate and support student learning.
6. Support the vision and mission of JCHS, a Career Academy High School; and work to develop and sustain the climate and culture of the academy model.
7. Participate as a team member with the department, academy and both licensed and non-licensed staff in a comprehensive evaluation, review, and re-evaluation process.
8. Be knowledgeable in the JCHS Strategic and School Improvement Plan with a focused effort of implementation with fidelity and purpose.  
9. Communicate clearly and accurately with administrators, staff, parents, students and support agencies.
10. Be an active member of the professional learning community: student, committee and academy meetings, as well as assist in early recognition and prevention of educational problems.
11. Respect the confidentiality of records and information regarding students, parents, and teachers in accordance with accepted professional ethics, state, and federal laws.

The Health Science teacher provides effective curriculum instruction that promotes and supports college and career readiness, with an emphasis on health care related career preparedness, for each student based on the Kansas College and Career Readiness Standards and the National Consortium for Health Science Education (NCHSE) Standards. The individual accepting this position will also work collaboratively within the Health Science Department in support of the Department’s goals and objectives. Potential courses include Intro to Healthcare, Healthcare Research, Medical Terminology, Anatomy and Physiology, EMT, CNA, or  CPR/First Aid, based on the experience of the candidate. Experience and certification as an EMT is preferable but not required.
 
Professional teaching licensure may include Biology, Family and Consumer Science, or Physical Education. Non-traditional candidates with a Bachelor`s degree may be considered using alternative licensure programs.
Candidates may also be considered if they meet the requirements of the CTE Specialized Certificate. This includes an industry recognized certificate (EMT, CNA, PTA) and five years of experience in a health science profession.

BASIC FUNCTION/PURPOSE
                                                 
The Health & Physical education teacher provides effective curriculum instruction that promotes and supports college and career readiness, as well as lifetime fitness components, for each student based on the Kansas College and Career Readiness Standards and the Kansas Health & Physical Education Standards. The individual accepting this position will also work collaboratively within the Physical Education Department in support of the Department’s goals and objectives.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Instruct and direct Physical Education content classrooms, which include, but are not limited to Physical Dimensions, Health, Strength/Conditioning and Aerobics.
2. Responsible for the organization and implementation of Kansas Health and Physical Education curriculum, based on the development of content “Units at a Glance,” as approved at the building and district level(s).
3. Submit required reports in a timely manner, participate in staff, department, committee, and team meetings.
4. Obtain instructional resources and materials through processes outlined by the Principal and/or the department of Teaching & Learning.
5. Keep informed regarding new technologies and research-based teaching practices that facilitate and support student learning.
6. Support the vision and mission of JCHS, a Career Academy High School; and work to develop and sustain the climate and culture of the academy model.
7. Participate as a team member with the department, academy and both licensed and non-licensed staff in a comprehensive evaluation, review, and re-evaluation process.
8. Be knowledgeable in the JCHS Strategic and School Improvement Plan with a focused effort of implementation with fidelity and purpose.
9. Communicate clearly and accurately with administrators, staff, parents, students and support agencies.
10. Be an active member of the professional learning community: student, committee and academy meetings, as well as assist in early recognition and prevention of educational problems.
11. Respect the confidentiality of records and information regarding students, parents, and teachers in accordance with accepted professional ethics, and state, and federal laws.
12. Attend/assist with school events; supervise students in all activities related to classroom.
13.  Strive to communicate the positive aspects of our school program to the public in word and deed.

7. Participate as a team member with the department, academy and both licensed and non-licensed staff in a comprehensive evaluation, review, and re-evaluation process.
8. Communicate clearly and accurately with administrators, staff, parents, students and support agencies.
9. Be knowledgeable in the JCHS Strategic and School Improvement Plan with a focused effort of implementation with fidelity and purpose.
10. Collaborate with all members of the JCHS staff as an active member of the Kansas Can Redesign effort and as a member of the Gemini I cohort.
11. Be an active member of the professional learning community: student, committee and academy meetings, as well as assist in early recognition and prevention of educational problems.
12. Respect the confidentiality of records and information regarding students, parents, and teachers in accordance with accepted professional ethics, and state, and federal laws.
13. Attend/assist with school events; supervise students in all activities related to classroom and student publications
14.  Strive to communicate the positive aspects of our school program to the public in word and deed.
15. Uphold and enforce Board policies, administrative procedures, school rules, and federal and state regulations including but not limited to: Consolidated Plan for Federal Programs Acceptable use of technology Sexual and racial harassment Child abuse reporting
 
16. Perform other duties assigned by the principal or other building or district administrators.
 
Term of Employment: Teacher Contract
 
Salary Range: Determined by placement on teacher salary schedule.
 
Evaluation Frequency:  Job performance will be evaluated in accordance with state regulations and the terms established in the negotiated agreement.
