Description:

Provide Tulsa Technology Center students instruction in English, Social Studies, Math, Science and testing skills needed to support successful completion of Oklahoma high school graduation requirements, and entry into the workplace or higher education, in a manner that is consistent with District Core Values.

Essential Functions:
 
1. Create an optimal learning environment, maintaining an appropriate balance of classroom decorum.
2. Create, plan and organize instructional materials, modify (update) lesson plans and instruct students in all subject area studies using using current instructional strategies to assure highest quality classroom instruction.
3. Collaborate to devise appropriate academic intervention measures to effect maximum student retention and program completion.
4. Maintain up-to-date records of student attendance, academic progress and grades as required by District policy and certification agencies. 
5. Collaborate with instructors to develop Academic Curriculum that directly pertains to OSDE Academic Standards.
6. Organize and/or coordinate miscellaneous projects/assignments in support of the campus activities.
7. Continue to develop professional expertise in educational methodology and learning strategies as well as in industry-specific topics through attendance/participation at conferences, professional development training, professional associations and industry events.
8. Perform tasks and duties relevant to any of various roles or responsibilities assigned by supervisor and determined by management to be appropriate for this position; comply with all policy, procedure, regulation and other communicated requirements as may be in effect for the work group or worksite.
9. Exercise discretion and independent judgment in making decisions regarding the provision of services. Interpret and implement policies in a manner consistent with the interests of the District. Provide advice and consultation to executive management as requested. Investigate and resolve issues, as needed, represent the department and District in a professional manner to all.
 
Job Requirements:
 
• This position requires a minimum of 3 years of experience as an educator with specific experience teaching mathematics at the secondary level.  Preference will be given to those with experience with at-risk youth, teaching on-line computer instruction and teaching advanced mathematics.
• Must have an Oklahoma Teaching Certification with Secondary Mathematics endorsement.
• Having a secondary endorsement in Science, Social Studies and/or English is a plus.
• Valid state issued driver's license
• Bilingual is a plus
 
Education:
Bachelor's degree, as well as Oklahoma Teaching Certification in Secondary Education with Mathematics endorsement.

Salary Schedule:
10 Month Instructor

Hiring Range:
$65,154 to $68,979 annually dependent on experience and education, plus additional $9,000 compensation for salary-in-lieu of dependent benefit coverage.

3. Evaluate students on a recurrent basis to provide timely indications of student's progress toward competencies and knowledge required for successful completion of program.
4. Provide academic, personal and behavioral counseling to students to support their successful completion of program requirements. Collaborate with District administration and Student Service representatives to devise appropriate intervention measures to effect maximum student retention and program completion.
5. Maintain up-to-date records of student attendance, academic progress and grades as required by District policy and certification agencies. Process, maintain and/or monitor paperwork required for District operations (inventory purchasing, follow-up data, etc.)
6. Develop and maintain community/business contacts and participate with industry advisory committee to promote interaction among students and practitioners, assure the program curriculum remains a current reflection of job market skill requirements and to facilitate placement of students.
7. Participate in projects/assignments in support of the campus or program, as assigned, which might include activities such as: assistance with CTSO activities/competitions, attendance at school events, performing monitoring duty in assigned area, etc.

• Experience teaching in any of the following areas is preferred: Physics & AP Computer Science.

Description:
Provide prospective students counsel and advisement to assist them in selecting appropriate career technical programs consistent with their aptitude and interests and provide current students with personal, academic, financial and emotional counsel to support their successful completion of their selected programs and transition into the workplace or higher education.

Essential Functions:
 
1. Recruit and interview prospective students from sending high schools to assess their interests in career technical programs and assure appropriate placement; assist in the enrollment of students into programs. 
2. Provide individualized academic and behavioral counseling to students and referral to other agencies / resources if required, regarding issues in career/education choices, academic attendance and achievement, personal / emotional / relationship issues, special needs, financial matters which support their completion of their educational program and successful post-school activity. 
3. Support Campus Administration with student discipline in accordance with school policies and participate in parent/student/sending school conferences as needed to support student retention and program completion.  
4. Continuously monitor student achievement indicators and collaborate with campus administration, student services representatives, instructors, and sending school counselors, as appropriate, to implement appropriate intervention measures to effect maximum student retention and program completion. 
5. Represent the school and the campus programs through attendance and speaking engagements at personal, school, community and business activities and events, communicating a message that reinforces the District Core Values and provides positive public relations for the campus, the District administration and the CareerTech system. 
6. Attend various staff and committee meetings as well as Advisory Committee meetings to assure alignment of campus counseling activities with District objectives and CareerTech initiatives. 
7. Organize and/or coordinate miscellaneous projects/assignments in support of the Campus Director, as assigned, which might include activities such as: coordinating campus tours for community, companies and prospective students, monitoring student activity in assigned duty area, coordinate CTSO activities, participating in campus open houses, etc. 
8. Provide the highest level of customer service to numerous internal and external customers by responding to requests for information, research, reports and communication regarding various campus programs and matters.  
9. Exercise discretion and independent judgment in making decisions regarding the provision of services to internal and external customers and in day-to-day operations of the department.  Interpret and implement policies in a manner consistent with the interests of the District.  Provide advice and consultation to executive management as requested.  Investigate and resolve issues as needed, represent the department and District in a professional manner to all.

Job Requirements:
 
• This position requires a minimum of 3 years of experience in student counseling in a public school setting, both career guidance and personal / behavioral issues. Experience in teaching helpful.
• Must have knowledge of high school graduation requirements, higher education requirements, and technical education standards.

• Knowledge in working with special needs students
• Valid State Issued Driver's License
 
Education:
 
• Masters Degree in School Counseling, Psychology or Social Work is required

HTML, CSS, JavaScript). 
• Degree not required upon employment but may be required for Oklahoma Department of Career and Technology Education (ODCTE) certification. Must be willing to obtain, at own expense, all necessary college coursework, including possible credit hours beyond a Bachelor’s Degree in order to obtain ODCTE State of Oklahoma Standard Teaching Certificate.
