ART Teacher
Art teacher will be responsible for developing learning activities and hands-on material, tending to individual student needs, and communicating regularly with parents.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Valid Michigan Teaching Certificate with appropriate grade level endorsement K-5 all subjects.
ADDITIONAL CONSIDERATIONS:
State teaching license relevant in the field.
Knowledge of Art best practices.
Empathy and great interpersonal skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication.
Proficiency with basic computer software such as Word and Excel.
Experience working with children and adolescents. Previous experience as a Art teacher will be advantageous.
Effective communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills for building collegial relationships with students, parents, and colleagues
Ability to differentiate instruction for students of varying abilities while maintaining high academic rigor and expectations for all students
Demonstrate strong classroom management skills with the use of positive behavior interventions
Demonstrate professional work habits and conduct consistent with the ethics of the profession
Willingness to supervise or direct student activities
Complies with School Board policies and all state/federal rules and regulations.
Completes all district and state reporting requirements.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
Salary and benefits in accordance with the Master Agreement between the Durand Area Schools Board of Education and the Durand Education Association.
