JOB GOAL:                To serve the students attractive and nutritious meals in an atmosphere of efficiency, cleanliness and warmth.
 
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
 
1. Prepare and serve food in a quick and pleasant manner.
 
2. Assume responsibility for seeing to it that during meal service periods the supplies of food offered are replenished regularly.
 
3. Assist in the clean up of the kitchen, serving areas and cafeteria.
 
4. Perform major cleaning of refrigerator and storage rooms at intervals scheduled by the  Site Coordinator/Cook.
 
5. Assume responsibility for the storage and disposal of unused food.
 
6. Operate kitchen equipment such as dishwasher, slicer, stove and other appliances.
 
7. Frequent physical effort demanded in walking and standing, lifting containers and trays weighing up to 50 pounds, while under conditions of some discomfort due to heat.
 
8. May be expected to fill in other positions in the kitchen or cafeteria because of absences.
 
9. Perform general cleaning and sanitation duties.
 
10. Perform routine duties assigned in the kitchen, including the collection of lunch monies and recording of the number of meals sold, including milk.
 
11. Make daily accounting of monies received, numbers of meals served, amount of milk sold, and prepare appropriate bank deposits.
 
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:           School Year
 
2024-2025 HOURLY SALARY:  $15.65

HOURS/DAY:  6.5 hours

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
 
The cook is responsible for the daily preparation and service of meals/snacks offered at each school site:
 
1. Prepare menu items including baking.
2. Maintain portion control.
3. Aid in setting up and service of food.
4. Supervise and assist with clean up of food service areas and equipment.
5. Determine quantities of ingredients required for designated menu items.
6. Track inventory of grocery products and paper goods. 
7. Create weekly grocery, produce and paper orders based on student participation.
8. Process student and adult payments on lunch accounts. 
9. Assist with required records, reports and work schedules.
10. Proficiency in use, operation and cleaning of all kitchen equipment.
11. Familiarity with sound safety and health practices.
12. Assigns various duties as necessary to food service staff. 
13. Other duties as may be assigned.
14. Proficiency in use of PC.
 
REQUIREMENTS:    Prior experience in quantity cookery.  Experience in feeding children desirable meals.  Must be physically capable of performing duties that include the ability to walk, bend, and stand for long periods of time.  Lift and carry objects weighing a minimum of fifty (50) pounds, and the ability to work with a variety of food service and cleaning related products.  Sanitation Certified required.
 
 2025- 2026 Hourly Salary:  $17.17

HOURS/DAY: 6
