TITLE:                        Food Service Server
 
QUALIFICATIONS: High School diploma or six months experience in food service
 
REPORTS TO:           Site Coordinator/Cook
 
JOB GOAL:                To serve the students attractive and nutritious meals in an atmosphere of efficiency, cleanliness and warmth.
 
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
 
1. Serving nutritious meals in a quick and pleasant manner.
 
2. Assume responsibility for seeing that during meal service periods the supplies of food offered are replenished regularly.
 
3. Assist in the clean up of the kitchen, serving areas and cafeteria. 
 
4. Assume responsibility for the storage and disposal of unused food. 
 
5. Frequent physical effort demanded in walking and standing.  Lifting of up to 50 pounds required.
 
6. May be expected to perform various food service tasks as directed by the Director of Food Service and/or Site Coordinator.
 
7. Perform general cleaning duties in cafeteria and may be called upon to set up tables in dining room.
 
8. Interact with students, staff, and colleagues in a pleasant manner.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
 
The cook is responsible for the daily preparation and service of meals/snacks offered at each school site:
 
1. Prepare menu items including baking.
2. Maintain portion control.
3. Aid in setting up and service of food.
4. Supervise and assist with clean up of food service areas and equipment.
5. Determine quantities of ingredients required for designated menu items.
6. Track inventory of grocery products and paper goods. 
7. Create weekly grocery, produce and paper orders based on student participation.
8. Process student and adult payments on lunch accounts. 
9. Assist with required records, reports and work schedules.
10. Proficiency in use, operation and cleaning of all kitchen equipment.
11. Familiarity with sound safety and health practices.
12. Assigns various duties as necessary to food service staff. 
13. Other duties as may be assigned.
14. Proficiency in use of PC.
 
REQUIREMENTS:    Prior experience in quantity cookery.  Experience in feeding children desirable meals.  Must be physically capable of performing duties that include the ability to walk, bend, and stand for long periods of time.  Lift and carry objects weighing a minimum of fifty (50) pounds, and the ability to work with a variety of food service and cleaning related products.  Sanitation Certified required.
 
 2025- 2026 Hourly Salary:  $17.17

2. Demonstrate a continuous sensitivity to the needs of children to whom they are assigned.
3. Carry out instructional or developmental activities suggested by the teacher, specialist, or others designated by the building administrator.
4. Maintain competency and skills through a variety of available offerings.
5. Educational Assistants may be responsible for personal care needs of student(s)
6. Educational Assistants may be expected to obtain and maintain CPI (Non Violent Crisis Prevention Intervention) certification.
7. Other responsibilities as assigned by supervisor.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: To be established by the school board by August 10^th.
 
2024-2025 HOURLY SALARY: $18.08 plus $1.00 for a certification from the NH Department of Education as a paraeducator II or as a teacher.  An Educational Assistant who is certified as a Registered Behavioral Technician (RBT) will receive a $3.00 per hour differential.

HOUR/DAY: 6.5

SCHOOL YEAR: 183 days/year               
 
EVALUATION: Performance to be evaluated no less than annually by the building administrator and immediate supervisor(s).
