About Our School
Sanford High School is located in York County in southern Maine 45 minutes south of Portland and less than 2 hours north of Boston. We are very proud of our state-of-the-art, 360,000 square foot facility that intertwines High School and Vocational programming and includes a Performing Arts Center and athletic complex. We are a comprehensive pathways high school serving over 1,100 students in grades nine through twelve, with a growingly diverse student population that reflects our community. Sanford High School operates on a semester block schedule and is accredited by the New England Association of Schools & Colleges (NEASC) and the Maine State Department of Education. Sanford High School's Program of Studies offers a comprehensive curriculum of approximately 150 courses and 22 Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs. Job Description

Sanford High School is seeking an an energetic, personable person who thrives working in a collaborative professional atmosphere to help transition high school students back into the classroom following an extended absence.  We are seeking someone who enjoys building strong rapport with students, has excellent communication skills, and understands the social-emotional needs of students and Restorative Practices, while effectively managing and academically supporting a small group of students transitioning back into the classroom.  Using a Restorative approach, this person will help students understand their behaviors, repair any harm caused by their actions, and help eliminate repeat offenses.  This person will work with administration, counselors, and teachers on a daily basis.  A person working in this position will also provide support to students who may need an quiet working environment outside the classroom for a short period of time.  This is an Ed Tech III position, which requires direct supervision of students.    

Essential Functions 
• Works with students and staff to determine academic needs of the individual.
• Uses technology to follow and document student progress on a daily basis.
• Organizes and maintains a system for accurate attendance. 
• Informs school counselors, administration, and staff of student progress.
• Facilitates social emotional and restorative opportunities for students with school discipline issues.

Additional Duties 
Performs other related tasks as assigned by the Principal and other Administrators as designated by the Superintendent.

  Carl J. Lamb Elementary School has an opening for an Ed Tech 2 in the Special Education Self contained program. This program supports students who have signficant learning needs including both academic and functional skills. Sanford Special Education Department has an opening for the Director of Extended School Year Services. This is a lead position overseeing the day to day running of the ESY program. Responsibilities include working with the Assistant Special Ed Director for staff hiring and classroom development. On-site responsibilities include staff supervision, student supervision as needed, working with the kitchen staff and transportation, organizing daily activities as needed, communicating with related service providers and parents as needed. In addition, organizing time sheets and communicating with central office as needed.
This position starts in April with hiring staff. ESY runs for 4 weeks, 4 days/week, 4 hours/day starting July 7 - July 31.
