RSU 24 is seeking an an experienced educator to serve as a school-wide fulltime interventionalist to be part of our Peninsula School team. Those interested should have a strong background in both literacy and mathematics with knowledge of proficiency-based education. The successful candidate will also demonstrate strong leadership skills; be a willing team player; can analyze data to drive individual instruction; have strong communication skills; is dedicated to meeting the academic and social needs of each child; has an ability to support each classroom teacher at their own level; and has knowledge of digital learning platforms and Multi-tiered Systems of Support.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Other duties may be assigned.
- Use his/her pedgolocal expertise to assess student proficiency;
- Working with classroom teachers, identify specific areas of ability, deficiency and/or strength;
- Prescribe an appropriate individualized intervention plan;
- Group students with similar needs for instruction;
- Provide individual and group instruction;
- Evaluate student intervention performance relative to established grade level standards and individual progress;
- Maintain student intervention records;
- Report students intervention progress to parents, teachers, and school administration.
Peninsula School is located in Prospect Harbor, Maine. Our school will have approximately 70 students in grades spanning from K-5.
The successful candidate will hold or be able to hold a Maine Department of Education Teacher Certification #020 General K-8 or 029 (K-3) Endorsement. Must hold a current MDOE Criminal History Records Check. Pay is based upon experience and level of education.
