3. Evaluates pupils' academic and social growth, keeps appropriate records, and prepares progress reports.
4. Identifies student needs and cooperates with other professional staff members in assessing and helping students solve health and learning problems.
5. Work cooperatively with other teachers, administrators, and staff to provide a secure learning environment for students
6. Communicates with parents through conferences and other means to discuss pupil's progress and interpret the school program. Interacts with pupils, staff and parents in a positive and professional manner.
7. Selects and requisitions instructional materials; maintains inventory records.

   2.    Arrange for transportation of students and staff who become ill or are injured at school.
   3.    Make appropriate referrals to nurse, social worker, chemical awareness counselor and other staff members as needed (i.e. pregnancy, drug use, acute chronic illness, attendance issues).
   4.    Administer medication only to students having appropriate forms completed.  Keep accurate record of
          medication administered.
   5.    As a member of the health team, is responsible for dissemination of information only to appropriate staff and support personnel (food services, transportation).
   6.    Maintain a current file of community and county health resources.
   7.    Be responsible for health services operational tasks which include:
          A.    Maintenance of accurate student health charts (i.e. initiate new/transfer student's health cards and
                 collect, review, record and file health information).
          B.    Recording of screenings and physical examinations.
          C.    Prepare accident reports, confidential health lists, health history updates, parent notification
                 forms, immunization reports, etc.
          D.    Complete inventory for health office supplies and stock office.
          E.    Issue first aid supplies to staff for classrooms and field trips.
          F.    Data entry of all emergency information, annual health information, and confidential health information for district student data management system.
          G.   Filing, answering phone calls and other related functions for maintenance of an organized and effective health office, including maintaining a "Sub Notebook" to cover absences.
   8.    Assist with enforcement of immunization regulations (i.e., no shots, no school).
   9.    Provide student, parent and staff education as delegated by the LSN (e.g., Glo-germ, communicable disease information).
10.     Medical Emergency Response Team (MERT) lead, participate in Crisis/Lockdown teams, and other building emergency procedures.
11.     Assist with student health screenings under the direction of the school nurse.
12.     Clean health office and equipment using appropriate products for Blood-Borne Pathogen control.

AP Exam Proctors Needed! 
 
AP Exams take place during the two weeks of May 5-16, Monday-Friday, from 8:00-5:00pm
 
• Proctors need to be available for either the 7:30am-1pm morning exam, 12-5 afternoon exam, or for the entire 7:30am-5pm period.

• Schedules are flexible but proctors are expected to be available for 4-6 hours at a time.

• Pay hourly – $20/hour

• Position is not benefit eligible.

• All exam proctoring and the training will happen at Prior Lake High School. 
 
 Responsibilities: 
 
• Attend proctor training in late April (time of training TBD, individual trainings can be arranged according to proctor’s schedule).

• Proctor exams according to the AP instructions include: distributing exams, reading instructions, monitoring students, collecting and counting exams, keeping exam materials secure until returning them to the AP Coordinator.

• Contact the AP Administrator immediately for any concerns during the exam.
 
 Requirements:
 
• AP Proctors must be adults; they may not be high school students. 

• AP Proctors must have basic computer knowledge

• Ability to work well in a multi-ethnic and multi-cultural environment with students, faculty and staff.
 
Please note that you cannot proctor if a member of your immediate family member is taking an AP exam.

MN READING AND MATH CORPS Tutor Program

Prior Lake – Savage Area Schools is looking for reading and math tutors to give their time and talent to help kids achieve success.

Tutors serve during the school day working with small groups of students (grades K-3 for reading and grades 4-8 for math) who need extra help building their reading or math skills. No matter if you’re a recent grad, career changer, stay-at-home parent or retiree, you can make a great tutor!

No experience? No problem. Minnesota Reading Corp and Math Corps provide comprehensive training in strategies proven to help students learn, so tutors are well equipped to help students grow.
 
Perks of a Tutor
 
• Receive a stipend every two weeks
• Earn up to $4,441 for college tuition or student loans. Tutors 55 and older may gift the award to their child, grandchild, stepchild or foster

QUALIFICATIONS: 
1. High school diploma or equivalent.
2. CPR, First Aid and CPI training preferred.
3. Ability to lift heavy objects (50 lbs).
4. Ability to work with students with mild to severe disabilities.
5. Must employ interpersonal and conflict resolution skills.
 

JOB GOALS: Provide support to the special education staff.
 

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
 
1. Support and monitor students in educational settings.
2. Provide teacher support; objective observation, data keeping, and prepare and organize materials.
3. Assist in implementing successful student programs as designed by special education staff.
4. Assists with personal care needs of individual students, as needed.
5. Demonstrate sensitivity to diversity in cultural heritage, lifestyles, and value systems among students and families.
6. Performs other duties as assigned by the building principal and/or supervising teacher, specific to special education.
